I have to ask. Why do people hate it? Is there something I'm missing, because I really love it.

I'm not asking for a definite, general reason. I'm just asking for opinions. No bashing--that's being a bit too biased. And please no spoilers (but if you can't help yourself, obviously, please forewarn). I actually never reached Feral Chaos; I just heard the song. -insert sweatdrop here-

    Thanks, in advance.

Also, for those who only know it as Feral Chaos' theme, here's a YouTube link of the whole theme, Cantata Mortis followed by God in Fire. Which is what I'm asking.

And added information, download links are in the description box of the video. Just in case you happen to be looking for it. No, I'm not advertising; just giving a heads up.

Wait...what?! People hate this song? I guess it must be a matter of taste.

I thought Takeharu Ishimoto really outdid himself when he composed this song along with Kidneythieves. The music really captured the moment in my opinion and the lyrics, both Latin and English, fit Chaos really well. Plus it's kind of awesome to kick Chaos' ass with ominous Latin chanting or an epic rock song playing in the background.

Moved to music, since this is more about the music than the game.

Yeah, apparently. And yes, that's what I thought, too. I don't know if it's because those bashing it are picky, or if there's really something the people who like it ('cluding me) are overlooking...

Last I checked, God in Fire didn't have Latin... Unless you mean Cantata Mortis.

There's a--...D: I'm sorry; I didn't know there was a section like that. Gawd, I need to stop posting in the wrong sections...

God in Fire is not Feral Chaos's theme. It's "Cantata Mortis & God in Fire".

There's a reason why God in Fire isn't liked so much. By itself, it's plain as hell as the song is basically just a bunch of power chords with very cheesy lyrics. To be honest, either song by itself is rather boring. Only the full version itself leaves a good impression as Cantata Mortis doesn't really kick up at any point and if you listen to Cantata Mortis without God of Fire, you don't really get anything out of it by the end. Also, I'm really sure Ishimoto did not compose God in Fire. He composed Cantata Mortis and if you listen to "Cantata Mortis & God in Fire" you can hear some differences when God in Fire kicks in as opposed to the original version of it. It sounds better within the full version as there's a bit more going on.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJiW1RINza0 That part of Chaos's theme was better than God in Fire in my opinion. If you really want to go about wondering why people don't like a certain Dissida song, you should ask about "Chaos Last Battle 1", the full version of Chaos's theme in the original Dissidia. There was much more going on in that song than Cantata Mortis & God in Fire. >>

I was talking about the whole song: Cantata Mortis & God in Fire.

Almost the exact same thing could said about Otherworld from FFX yet people seem to like it. And as I said in my first post, it's a matter of taste. Some people, like me, don't really mind if the song is just a bunch of powerchords with some cheesy lyrics. Sure the song could have been better if it had more going on in it but by itself, it's still a pretty decent composition in my opinion. Although I'll agree that the songs alone don't leave that much of an impression than both of them together. They were made to complement each other in the end.

I never said that he composed God in Fire. I said that he composed the song, Cantata Mortis & God in Fire, along with Kidneythieves. He composed Cantata Mortis and Kidneythieves composed God in Fire. Although from what I've seen in interviews, Ishimoto did have some input in how God in Fire would turn out in the end.

I like taking them as two different songs because...they're two different songs, technically. >.>"

Them being pretty boring is true, but no one seems to say that. Them saying the singer sings it all wrong and...wrong is...what?

And, sorry, sorry. I'm just following what people say about composers and such. -shot-

So I take it this is your opinion, Terra? I have to ask, though, what actually makes the lyrics cheesy because, 1, I'm blind, 2, God in Fire seems to make more sense than The Messenger; and, even if the lyrics did make sense, it seems to point more towards Cosmos. And they sing it pretty wrong, too, but that's...forgivable. A few cringes don't hurt...-shot-

    Thanks, either way.

Can you even beat him that fast? >>"
