Birth by Sleep Glitch? Help!

So Im playing aqua's story and Im to the part where you can either go to Olympus or Deep Space. When I went to go do Olympus, I did absolutely the SMALLEST amount of damage to enemies like when you first start the game, and Im about lvl 15 so that doesnt seem right. Tried to go to Deep Space, same thing happened.

Getting annoyed, I was like... alright Ill level. Went to the Mirage Arena, and did perfectly fine (normal damage for my level) for the first 3 events. Then when facing the Sentinel it went back to little slices of red off the hp bar.

Is this normal? Or is it a glitch?

Uh well Aqua does the least amount of physical damage. What difficulty are you playing on?

 

There are plenty of explanations: LVL, defense of enemies, battle difficulty, ect. Can you fill us in a little more?

 

Not easy mode, the one above it. Standard I believe?

No but, I would be facing the same enemies in the Mirage Arena, and I would do no damage outside of the Mirage Arena.
Im on standard mode, level 16.

It makes no sense how I could do so much damage, the magically be set back to doing damage like I was level 1.

 

Well if you did the first levels of the Mirage arena then that would explain 1 thing. Those levels are for when you beat the first world. So at your current level they would be easy. I suggest training.

Also are you doing physical attacks or commands?

 

Mostly I do physical attacks, but everything including my Shotlock and commands are lacking in the damage dept.
I guess im going to spend my days grinding then... greatttttt.

 

Is this your first play through? Did you start on someone else besides Aqua? Details dude.

Nah, this is my first playthrough, but Ive beaten both Ventus and Terra.

 

All right so your not a noob. That's good. Yeah um I was level 33 when I beat Aqua's story so at Olympus I was maybe level 21-22? I think. Do you fight every enemy you run into?

 

Nah, sometimes I skip because its annoying, but Im not like one of those people thats like... AHH... looks like Im gonna cartwheel around this

This happened to me in FF12. I just thought it was weird that I was doing so much damage and then... boom. No damage. lol

 

Yeah.... I stopped playing FF12 when I was lvl 40 and it was like, this guest on your team has infinite Hi-potions, so you should level up to 55. Drop dead official guide. Anyways you should be good with 1 or 2 levels. Maybe go to the command board and train your commands a bit too.

And yea, the battle system off FF12 did me in too. I was like... alright, enough of all these blue lines flying everywhere.

 

The leveling system in BBS is rather touchy. You can go between being fine and doing minimum damage VERY quickly. Go back often to see how you're stacking up. For me it worked to be roughly 3x the battle level, but that breaks down a bit late game (since the battle levels jump right at the end).

As said already, Aqua is magic based, so filling your deck with magic commands should serve you well.

 

And thats why I like Terra, I was never the one for magic... =/

 

I have to agree with you there. It's a shame that his dodge isn't great, because he really gets nerfed in the post game bosses.

 

Nyah, same thing happened to me, but I just grinded inside of Deep Space, which leveled me up alot, since I was killing things that took a while, if I were you, I would just, if possible, grind inside of Deep Space itself. Good luck!
