Okay, I just downloaded GIMP and I have absolutely no idea how to use it... I know there are also brushes and stuff that I probably need to download? I want to learn how to use this program can someone please help?
Strangely, I just learned today. xD What do you need help with? I don't know everything about it yet, but I can help you with the basics.
*Hi-5's* I have a problem too with GIMP xD I'm still learning, once I've finished, I'll write down a tutorial lol xD
Thanks ^^' I think I figured out how to open a picture, and I started messing around with one of the brushes, but everything else is just confusing... :sweatdrop:
All right. When you open gimp, you go up at the top, then click file, then new. It will ask you to pick a size. I usually choose 400 by 100. Then click OK. From here, if you want the backround to be one solid color, click on the box... http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll180/o0mikaila0o/gimp.jpg ^there^. You with me so far?
When you click the little box, another box will come up and you can choose the color. Set the color to what you want. When you do, click OK. Then up at the top, click edit, then Fill with FG Color, and the backround will be that color. Do you know how to insert a render in it and resize the render?
Okay, I got it so far ^^ But I don't know how to insert or resize a render ._. And once again, thank you so much for your help!
Sure, no problem. All right, to insert a render, you have to get one and save it to your computer. Then, in gimp, go to file, then open, then open the render. It will show up in another window. Then go up to edit, then copy. Then get rid of the window with the render. Then you go on the window with the sig, then go to edit, and then paste. http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll180/o0mikaila0o/gimp-1.jpg To resize it, go to Layer, then scale layer. A box will pop up. http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll180/o0mikaila0o/gimp-2.jpg Click the little tiny arrows to make it bigger or smaller. Repeat until you have it the right size. To move the render to the right spot, on the gimp menu, click on what looks like 4 arrows going all different ways, then you will be able to move it. I hope I didn't confuse you. xD Anything else you need help with?
Nope, I think I got it all so far. ^^ I had a bit of trouble resizing the render, tho, cuz it kept disappearing completely at first ._. But I figured out how to stop it from doing that. ^^

this thread is really helpful. I used it to make a sig just now. ILoveRikuAndYouCantStopMe, have you written a tutorial? If not, you should. You're really good at explaining things.
