Ghosts and Spirits

What do you think about ghosts.I believe that they are real.This is for dicussing ghosts,spirits,and demons.Also poltergeists.

Dicuss.

 

Well, for me, seeing is believing. I don't believe in ghosts, demons, etc., unless I witness it myself, and I did have a supernatural experience once. But that's once in fifteen years, so I believe that there may be a lingering spirit or two, but not many.

And let's try not to make this into a free-for-all like these threads always do...

 

I'm not sure. 75% of my doesn't believe in them and 25% of me does. As DPWolf said, seeing is believeing.

 

I've never had any experiences with anything even slightly supernatural, so as of now i'm not a believer. I have no opinion on what happens after death so who knows? Maybe ghosts are real, maybe they aren't. My friends say they've seen things before, but i know my friends and i'm sure most of them are just trying to mess with me.

 

Uhh..who knows, right? There are a lot of people who do see spirits or have them in their house, but I'm not sure. I guess I might believe in them a little.

I do believe in ghosts, and much of the paranormal/supernatural. For sure seeing is believing, and I can honestly say that I have seen and heard things that with science and technology at the present time can not be explained.

Maybe in the future they will advance more and a logical reason will be able to be given, but until then I am going to remain a firm believer in the existence of the supernatural.​

 

Even after having a supernatural situation, I still dont COMPLETELY, without a DOUBT, believe in them. I just...Ignore it. I mean, usually after weird stuff like that happens, I let it go. If someone tells me that something weird happened to them, I question it and try to make excuses. I think there are spirits though. I dont mess with trying to summon spirits or anything because I think that's very real and it can get you in trouble...Like poltergeists and hauntings of sorts...

 

I am torn on the issue as I have seen some things I can't explain and felt stuff kind of akin to what is on Ghost Hunters a few times. I do believe there is something there and it is an interesting phenomenon and that the energy that is emitted by paranormal things like ghosts is pretty real. Why it is and what remains of a spirit etc, that I am not sure of. I don't dismiss ghosts but I have to wonder just how real they are and what exactly they are. As for demons, I don't really believe in those as I've never seen any proof to their existences at all. Most ghosts don't seem to be harmful any way so I don't worry about them.

 

My pastor, he said if you see a ghost, spirit of someone, he says they are just demons in the shape of that person. Don't trust them nor talk to them. They'll just force you to join the devil. He said that and I partially believe in him.

 

Not all of them are bad though, well im not sure but a family member and some witnesees saw a ghost of a swedish guy or something in a hospital elevator saying he wanted to go to the basement. Yep weird but interesting story.

 

Well I guess I might believe in something like that.

 

Well I have seen and heard my name being called but I guess Demons are evil,and spirits are good.Am I right?

Personally, I don't think ghosts could exist in our realm of reality. Perhaps dimensionally they could be theoretically existent (still outside of our understanding). However 90% of the news, articles, witness accounts, etc., that I hear are most likely just a bunch of superstitious people. I would never vow myself to believe in such superstition, nor does it interest me in the least.

Things such as demons and spirits as well fall under the same general concept. Demons, just flat out, not even from a religious stand-point, don't exist. Period. It was a creation to manifest "evil," which as we know true evil doesn't exist at all. It's simply an allegory of sorts that's been misinterpreted and blown way out of proportion.

For spirits... you know... I saw a video of a theologian who stated that "spirit" or "soul" in fact literally translates into "breath," in a certain ancient language (I don't think it was latin; though it might be). For such reasons as: people had no way of knowing why people were not living except for they weren't breathing. Therefore their "breath" or "spirit" was no longer present. Then again that whole thing is of little significance simply because I'm not superstitious that way. *shrugs*

 

I decided I'd just copy/paste the response to one of the other many threads asking this same question. My views have not changed since I posted this, though I'll tell you, Ghosthunters throws me for a loop EVERY TIME.

I believe in them, but I think people can only see them, when the death plain passes though ours causing us to see those who have passed, or hear their voices, but that is mealy my opinion.

 

To be scientifical about it, if I was too explain my thoughts on spirits, they are pieces of brain waves or mystical energy that are stored in a biological/physical containers like a human body. They record everything in the container, give the vessel the ability to think and interpret, link together other spirits from other vessels and humans, and help the vessel survive by other 'ghosts' left behind (it should make sense in the next part).

To me, ghosts are just really old piece of others spirit whether dead or alive, they just drop of a piece of their spirit and it stays in that area. if a vessel is able to 'connect' with these lost spirit parts they can gain insight into that persons history, thoughts and instincts. This explains the reason vessels are either able to survive the world, certain 'ghosts' passed on things such as physical capabilities, knowledge of survival techniques, world history, etc. since ghosts, to me are part of an original soul they can give the form of that person, making it seem as if a dead or alive person is there but instead it is just a spiritual representation of them.

People often think I am part of a relegious movement but it's all my ideas, incase you want to know or ask or question my reasoning for this.

While demons seem to be created by people as a way to show the opposite of angels or holy people and not real in any sense.
All I know is that relying on your eyes can get you killed, and instead FEEL everything around you, feel the life and you'll know a little more than your eyes can ever tell you.

 

I agree with that PaW because when I first moved to the house I lived in now, I use to cry and say I wanted to go home, and a few weeks ago one of my little brothers was told off and he went to his room (which use to be my room when we first moved) and he started crying and said he wanted to go home, so with what you said, it's like a piece of my spirit from the time I used to cry and say that is in my little brothers room and caused his to say that.

My house...is...haunted by ghosts. A death plain passes through ours...that's a pretty good idea of how we "see ghosts".

Boy, do I have a story to tell. But I don't feel like telling it right now. Maybe another time.

Yes I have had a supernatural experience before but I'm not basing my opinion on just that because people sometimes only imagine they see them and whatnot. Their mind plays tricks on them. I'm not saying mine didn't, but I don't think my mind was.

But I've always believed in ghosts and spirits because it always seemed fun to believe in.
