I went to Gamestop today and I bought Gears of War 2. The guy asked me if I wanted a 'new' copy or an old copy. I said new. So, he picked up a Gears of War 2 case, opened up a box full of CDs, pulled out a disc, and put it into the Gears of War 2 case. Is it really new? Like, it wasn't in plastic or anything. It looked like he gave me a used copy. Also, the new copies are supposed to come with a code to unlock the maps from the first Gears of War....mine didn't. Did everyone else get the code that got the a new copy?
Gamestop opens their games and takes the CD out and places it in a drawer so that way nobody can steal the game when you open the case. Technically since it's opened it wouldn't be considered 'new' but it is to them and it hasn't been used.
The only game they are allowed to take out of the plastic new is LO. That GoW2 was not wrapped in plastic and did not come with a flashback map pack code in the manual holder of the case. Call the store complaining to the manager, they will give you a deal.
