Did you know that almost the entire living human population is alive? That's pretty mainstream.

 

But if you look at historical data most people are dead. Being alive is pretty niche in the long view.

 

Yeah, but mainstream vs niche is typically judged based solely on living people, not dead ones.

 

Who cares if other people like something that you like?

 

i dont care if other people like it, but when i see it on tv and hear it on the radio it gets annoying after a while.

I don't let other people decide what I like. I decide what I like. If I let people dictate what I liked or disliked by the frequency of seeing it, then I think I'd be missing out. No matter how many gifs I see about Avengers it still remains one of my favorite movies. Even if most of the movie was "spoiled" for me before I saw it, I still enjoyed it.

Also, if someone legitimately enjoys something, it's not up to you to tell them to not like it.

 

I read comic books. Extensively. Iron Man "fans" that have only watched the movies annoy me. Doesn't mean I can't like Iron Man or stop reading his comics without enjoying them as much.
