Honestly? This sounds like a huge waste of money to open a store specifically for games ok for younger audiences. Can't they just make a section for that in the existing stores? And isn't Gamestop already getting pretty poor business? And if they wanted something to appeal to kids...Toys R Us already have video games.

    What's next? Gamestop for Girls?

Yeah, I think this is also pretty pointless for them to endeavor in and it most likely will still not prevent kids from buying them Mature games, but at least they are trying to appease to the over-protective parents and whatnot.

    Girlstop. :B

I just don't see the point of having to take such extreme measures. If a child has an older sibling, they could buy the game for them, same as parents, guardians, et cetera. Having a set regulation should be enforced if some do not do so already.

You can't win every battle, but when in doubt, make a kid's store.

I find this silly and funny to be honest if a kid wants to play adult games that include guns, killing, and a lot of violence their going to. Ask my cousins who are 10 and 12. They love games! Though that might be my fault...

Probably not the smartest idea on Gamestop's part, but we'll just have to see where this goes. But I don't think it's the worst idea that could be done either.

I see where they're coming from, but this could flounder really easily. And I mean really easily. It'd be a shame if it does, because it's not a bad idea, but it seems unnecessary. It's kind of like Kids Foot Locker or whatever.

i don't think that is the actual reason for this. i think it's just a business idea, i don't think they actually care if kids buy games too mature for them. but it doesn't seem like an awful idea for a store either.

This is not going to work, a store that only sells the lowest rated games? If gamestop does want to squander children from buying mature games they should just have a "kiddie" section in their stores. Even then that is a bit much, but let's just face it, kids will always be playing Halo whether Gamestop likes it or not.

Talk about a waste of money if they really go through with this. Kids will still find ways to play M rated games.

    Black market obviously.

But yeah, this seems redundant and unecessary.

I've seen GameStop Kids in several malls recently. I'd love to hear how well they performed the next time GameStop announces its financial results.
