    Yeah so, basically the premise is you go into an emulator and screw with game data to make it look like your old unplayable NES cartridges. Some of the most hilarious s██t I've ever seen, personally.

    I don't really get it lol. So they purposely screw around with the game data to try and make the game unplayable for a laugh?

    Yeah, exactly. There's no real endgame, just the absurdity and spectacle of it all. The only real goal is to find the funniest way to break it.
