Friends....

Well, i cant really call him a friend because he's really a *******..sorry.

Well, i know this guy since last year, and i thought he was really nice and we became friends. But eventually he showed a darker side to him...He laughs at these disabled kids everytime we get out of school and making noises to bother them (theres a school for disabled down the street from us, the kids are very nice btw :)

And i get really upset, but his group of friends just laugh at me for being too "SOFT" for them. And he once laughed at me while i was presenting a mock bill for the GLBT community to adopt. And that was cruel i thought, and he just made fun of me. He also said to some kids who had cancer that the desvered it..i had it after that and i kicked him somewere were it hurt >.< i mightve overreacted but it bothered me...alot.

But how do i tell him to stop, i know he is not just joking. He is very serouios about everything he says. But it's making people mad and i want him to stop immeditly. How do i?

 

Sad thing is, you can't make him stop. That's just who he is. You can't change that. What you can do though, is stop hanging out with him.

 

tell him to knock the **** off
that simple and if he is an ass about it then ditch him
if he is like that do you really want him as a friend

 

Yeah, but he's in my classes all day, and he does things to bother me to the point >.< and the really messed up thing is, in the summer he works with kids and he makes fun of them all day (we have summer classes also)

 

How can you not like making fun of the diseased and handicapped?

 

If you aren't going to try and help, then don't post here at all.

 

Because to me it's not funny, i think theres something serouosly wrong with people when they do that

It depends, but what you're saying is not the point. The point of this thread, is finding a solution to Rayku's friend problem. Regardless if handicapped people laugh at themselves, its mean and cruel for someone to make fun of another person's disability, and on top of that act like they deserve it.

 

Thank you, i've told him that he's become very cruel, and some of his other friends also noticed this.

 

I think there is a point. Everyone here seems to feel that being handicapped or sick deserves some sort of special merit or attention, or that because they're special we should be more sensitive for what they are. My point is that more often than not, most disabled people don't see themselves as any worse off than others. Life can be difficult for them at times, but when is it ever not difficult for anyone else. While this dude's friend's behaviour is ignorant, you're all operating under the assumption that his antics are actually offending the disabled, when they're more than likely to not give a damn. Speaking of giving a damn, if you don't like his ignorant attitude why are you trying to save him? I say **** 'em.

 

He made few of the kids cry...is that good enough for you?

 

So now all this is about is hurt feelings? They'll get over it. Back to the point: why do you even care that he's being ignorant. You obviously don't think much of him. How is this effecting you, other than being called empty words?

 

Well, it's effecting me because of many personal reasons, he does this because he's just like that, he likes being mean to these kids for no reason, and the reason why im trying to help him is because he WASNT like this at all before, something changed him over the year and made him like that.

 

No. I don't feel they need to be treated differently than other people or deserve "some special merit." And I do agree with what your pretty much saying here about life being tough in general.

All I was saying was that it's bad to laugh at peoples' shortcomings in general, regardless if they care or not. And I bet some people were offended by Rayku's friend's comments.

 

Why are you under the assumption that something had to have made him act out that way?

 

Because, he wasnt acting like that at all before, this started about the end of our first year of high school *im in my second now* what would change him so quickly?

 

Maybe he's just revealing his true self? The guy you knew him as before could have just been an act to gain your friendship.

 

One of the social workers at school also told me this...and you might be right...But i dont want that to be true. It seems too evil and cunning. But you might be right :/
