PC version actually, but it was for Windows 3.1 with compatibility into Windows 95 (which is where I played it). The only ways I'm finding to play it on Windows 7 involved downloading patched up installers making the fact that I found the disk irrelevant.
GENESIS DOES. Ecco the Dolphin was just as much proof of BLAAASSSST PROCESSSSSIIIINNNGGG and musical freedom as Streets of Rage and Sonic 3. Love it. Aquaria being a game I call an "ecoovania" because I love it so much. Need more games like it. Anyway, play it on Genesis Mixt! Or emulate using a genesis controller! Or emulate using an Xbox controller. These are all acceptable solutions, but the closer you get to GENESIS DOING the better.
oh god it's that game easily one of the most frustrating gaming experiences of my life like it was fun but also so so painfully difficult ;~;
