Implemented Forum Subsection for Top 5?

I was actually thinking about The Top 5 and the video portal.
Since a lot of people upload videos on youtube anyway, why not make a forum subsection just for Top 5 videos? I know we have a section for AMVs and the video portal, but I think this could work.

Have a section titled The Top 5 (or a variant since we have one for winners) or Top 5 nominations or something. Have subsections for different categories (to avoid crowding). Categories can be KH, FF, Mixes, or even song genres, I don't know. Each member makes one thread (like in Creativity Corner for stories) and posts updates whenever they post a video.

This isn't a solid idea since we'll have members posting the same video here and in the recording/audio/video section, etc., but I think with some tweaks, something like this could work?

Of course, the Top 5 seems to be on hiatus and I know the video portal is part of the problem, so I think we need some fix.

 

This might be a decent fix for the video portal issues. The video portal was nice, but it reached it's limit (and to me it always felt a bit disjointed from the rest of the site).

As a bit of a piggy-back sugestion, what if we made 5 sub catagories and the the "Top 5" was the weekly winner in each section? Though I'm having trouble thinking of five sections. Drama, Action, and Comedy are the biggies I can think of that our videos fit into.

 

I like the idea, it does solve the problem of the video portal. It could also increase the activity of the Top 5. I think with a little tweaking to how it would work it could be a nice solution. I was actually gonna start doing the Top 5 again from next Sunday.
Maybe it could be a sub-section of the video production section or it could just be something like [TOP 5 ENTRY] at the beginning of the title?

I'm against splitting the Top 5 into genre/category sections though.

 

I like this idea. It was horrible having to watch every single video for that week. This can help streamline the process and for the person running the Top 5 will have an easier time so it should get updated more often.
