Traditional Art Flower Bud

This is just a close-up of a flower bud that I was drawing a while back when I was bored... I thought I'd come and see what people thought about it ^^ (Woo-hoo! First thread in Traditional Art! XD XD) Oh and sorry about the lines... I only had lined paper... :sweatdrop: And that squiggly line is suppossed to be my signature... XP

Hey DS! i already saw this at school XP! okay to cnc the flower pettals are a little stifff (and don't take this offensively) and the grass should look a little more like grass... but i LOVE how this is a change from all the manga drawings, its really cute nice job! ^^

Right - thank heavens someone draws something like flowers, imo it's importaint to get outside the safety zone by drawing other things than just humans. It looks pretty nice, though a few adjustments would really improve it. A hint I have for you is that everything in nature will have a geometrical shape somehow - circles, ovals, cubes, triangles, the whole package. This flower here would have a mix of circle and triangle, if you look for it then you'll see it. :3 The "root" of the "head" should be shown better, if you look at an actual flower it would end right there and then continue with the long thing I forget the English name for. >>;;

I wanna see more flowers... <3

The shading and sketching could be more solid, but it looks fine.

It's not bad, but this flower definately needs more volume. It looks really flat atm; should've done more shading. 3:

 

hmm... yeah... I see what you guys are talking about... I'll go fix it then ^^

and I haven't learned exactly how to shade with sunlight and everything, yet... >_>
