Not going to copy and paste a potentially landmark decision here. Read it yourself.

What do you guys think of this? Do you think it will go to the Supreme Court in coming years, or will this fail in the long term? I for one believe that it is highly likely to go to the Supreme Court and am glad that someone finally did this officially.

I understand that there are places in the US like Alabama and Mississippi that don't have great healthcare and really need reform. But where I live, in Minnesota, we have available to us some of the best health care in the country for much less than most other places. The problem with this law is that it tries to fix something in some states that needs it and others where it will cause a terrible loss of quality care. It's so obvious that health care reform should be a state issue and not a national issue. Doing what's right for America isn't doing what's right for a few struggling states and bringing the other prospering ones down. And there is no doubt that this law is unconstitutional. Nowhere in the United States Constitution does it say that the citizens of this nation can be forced into the purchase of a government provided good or service. What it does say is that we cannot be forced into buying a government good or service. There really is no gray area here. The US Constitution is very clear on this issue.
