Kingdom Hearts II first time meeting the organization

Hey guys i was just wondering, iin the part when you first go to hollow bastion the organization pops up a little and barley send any thing then disspears. what was the overall perpose of that seen. just wondering.

 

Most likely just to introduce the main antagonists of the game? At that point, Sora & co did not have much of a mission other than "find Riku, find the King." When we run into the Organization, we realize that there's going to be more to the game than simply looking for friends.

 

As Misty said it was just a way to show of that this game actually had villains and sort of a plot. I think they could have made a better impression though, just sending dusks after Sora and the others make them look like sissies.

 

That's game-mechanic wise, but why did they show up story wise? I personally think they just wanted to scoop Sora up, and the one who stayed behind (don't remember who it was) especially wanted to mind**** him. Sora had no idea what he was talking about.

 

Other than Xemnas and Axel who had fought Sora before, none of them had met Sora before. And none of them had seen him since CO so this was a way to test him to see if he was still usable for their plans.

And the one who stepped in for extra dialogue was Xigbar BTW.
