Dissidia Final Fantasy. As for my first "main" FF game, FF1 (Dawn of Souls to be more specific)

I'm 90% sure it was Final Fantasy 7. I had never even heard of Final Fantasy before then due to both my age and low income. After that, it was sort of simultaneous. My neighbor had bought FFX around the same time that a friend of mine gave me an emulator for SNES with several Roms on it, including FFIV, VI, and Mystic Quest (though not main series) so I played those three while watching my neighbor play FFX. I played Tactics next, on my brother's old playstation, and it was the first FF game that I had beaten (and still my favorite). So FF7 is the first one I played, though I didn't realize it was a series until FFX and FFTactics, is the first one I beat.

My first FF game I played was X.

FF8 was the game that really got me into the series though I never actually owned it myself.

VII. I got it after I played the second Kingdom Hearts, along with FFVIII.

FFI. ...On the PSP though. I honestly haven't completed a main title other than that an XIII(and XIII-2 I guess). Still haven't bothered finishing VII but I got into Final Fantasy after playing Kingdom Hearts. >>

IX was my first played, it may have helped shaped the slight bias I have towards it as being the best in the series, but I'm fairly certain it can hold its on on that claim anyway.

Final Fantasy I on the NES since it was one of the first games I owned for that system.

FF VII. A friend of mine who imported FF VI told me it was awesome, and the FF VII trailers and whatnot looked amazing.
I had already played other Squaresoft games years before that though : FF Legend 2 (weird US name choice, it' s actually SaGa 2) and two other games that definitely put Square on my radar : Seiken Densetsu 1&2 (Mystic Quest and Secret Of Mana in Europe, FF Adventure and Secret Of Mana in the US).

Much to my dismay, FF X-2.

I'm so glad I never finished it.

. . . I feel a little bad, but mine was Final Fantasy XIII. It was really the first one that I had heard about from the television, any of the other ones, I think I was too young. I'm not too sure about playing the other Final Fantasy games because it really doesn't seem like my bad, but I'm not completely adverse to giving them a try.

Final Fantasy X and god was it awful for me! I hate turn base games. I tried to go through the whole game but I couldn't. The first one I beat was Crisis Core which was really good! I also beat XIII which was a very strange game. I think the graphics are what kept me going. I couldnt get into XIII-2. I got so frustrated with XIII. STUPID DOOM COUNTERS! I have X-2, XII, and Dirge of Cerberus but I keep getting mixed reviews about them.

Final Fantasy X! The first time I played I didn't finish because I was really young and not savvy with leveling and such...but when I revisited it I loved it so much

My first one was Final Fantasy IV. Maybe that's why Cecil is my favorite Final Fantasy character EVER. Plus, I think that the battle theme is the best, closely followed by IX.

Wow, all your comments make me feel a bit ashamed for not jumping in the FF bandwagon sooner. Well... at least with all these remakes/ports, I guess it's never too late.

Final Fantasy IX was my first and favourite. I only played an hour or so of it at first though, at a friend's house. Years later, my brother bought a PS2 and I was a happy child.

My first was Dirge of Cerberus. I just picked the coolest looking one off the wall at the rental place. My first 'main' was FFX.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, February last year. There's a library near me that stocks video games you can check out for a week, and I wanted to check out an FF game. The other options I looked at were the I and II collection for the GBA, and FFIV for the DS.
