This is kind of disappointing. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Nintendo-likely-report-theflyonthewall-1029032259.html?x=0&.v=1 Nintendo (Other OTC:NTDOY.PK) is likely to report disappointing 1H earnings results on Thursday, highlighting the company's struggles against mobile devices like the iPhone (AAPL), the Associated Press reports. In addition to its 3DS handheld, which has been "a relative disappointment" since going on the market earlier this year, the company's Wii home console is losing sales momentum. It appears that due to mobile devices being released that are better, it's really giving Nintendo a run for their money.
It's not just that, the wii has been on the market for about 5 years now. It was insanely popular way back when it was first released and continued to sell well for a couple of years. Now, if folk wanted it they would have it. Besides, it's been losing momentum for some time now. That's not recent news. Plus, the wii doesn't have a great selection of games like the PS3 or xbox. The sales of games most likely contributes to Nintendo's worries. I like the 3DS but Nintendo really need to get some of the other game companies behind them if they want it to work. It's kinda heading in the direction of the wii, where Nintendo are making some great games for it with one a few coming from third-parties.
Saw this coming even since Nintendo released the 3DS. Nintendo seemed to be holding all of their system's hands with first party release, which is a shame.
