Final Fantasy X: Eternity's Cycle

Story

1000 Years ago, Zanarkand and Bevelle created a war between Bevelle's Machina and Zanarkand's Summoners however, Zanarkand was losing.

Yu Yevon, a summoner of Zanarkand and its leader, devised a plan to both defeat Bevelle and preserve the city of Zanarkand forever. Yu Yevon called the surviving people of the city together and transformed them into fayth as conduits for a massive summoning that created a spectral version of Zanarkand from the dreams of the former Zanarkand inhabitants.

Yu Yevon set this Dream Zanarkand out to sea, then called pyreflies to himself to craft the first Sin. Sin was given two objectives: protect the Dream Zanarkand, and to ensure it was not discovered, and to destroy any city that grew too large or relied too heavily on technology. The strain of trying to control Sin was beyond Yu Yevon, and the process destroyed his mind, removing any conscious control he may have had on it. Sin thus became a monster that knew only its two instincts, and indiscriminately attacked cities and villages all over Spira, starting with the true Zanarkand itself.

To allow Spira a reprieve and hope for salvation, Yu Yevon's daughter, Yunalesca, presented a way to destroy Sin - the Final Aeon, a powerful aeon born from a bond of love. Sacrificing her husband Zaon for the ritual, he became the Final Aeon and destroyed Sin. Yu Yevon's spirit possessed Zaon's body, and over time Zaon transformed into a new Sin. During this time, the new Sin was too weak to terrorize Spira as it grew, establishing a temporary time of Calm. Apparently the only one able to create the Final Aeon, Yunalesca became an unsent and taught the people of Spira that if they atone for the sins of Bevelle and Zanarkand during the Machina War, one day Sin would be vanquished for good.

Now it is 1000 years later and SIn has returned every 10 years since then and Lord Braska's daughter, Yuna is about to go on a pilgrimage take up the role of defeating Sin but fate throws in a twist, Tidus, son of Jecht arrives in Spira, claiming to be from Zanarkand but little do people know, Yuna's journey will be remmebered always, but that's not all, a Summoner requires Guardians to protect them on their journey and that's where your characters come in, will you lend your aid to Yuna to defeating SIn once and for all or will you join with Yevon to allow the Spiral of Death to continue endlessly, that's what we're here to discover.

Rules

This is an RP based on Final Fantasy X but instead of there only being Tidus, we're throwing new Characters with their own backstories as these OC's can be a Guardian to Yuna or a Follower of Yevon.

Romance is accepted but keep at it PG-13 or 12.

Posts must be 3 sentences or more.

Don't godmod, Not everyone's invincible, even the Main Characters or Anatagonists have to be exhausted or killed eventually, a Villian may retreat and return stronger than last time but in the end, he is still defeated.

Now for the Number of OC's alllowed, it shall be three OC's to one person, Nothing higher than that, you can have 1 OC or 2 if you feel you can't handle three at once, all that is required is an single OC ro particpate.

No Spoilers for Yuna's group either, this RP will strictly follow the storyline meaning Yuna and co can't be told about Yevon's true ideals or that the Final Summoning requiring a sacrifice, your characters can know about these things like Auron did but it's mostly. with just more OC's with their own backstories and battles.

FInal Fantasy X Characters are indeed up for grabs, for the sole sake of making sure all of them get their lines and etc, two FFX Characters can be chosen, if no-one else wishes to obtain a character, then those FFX Characters will be given to people who will use them for plot based purposes.

Please refer to the OOC Thread of the RP to join, now this RP will start but in the begining's of Tidus's journey into Spira, meaning he's stranded.

Please also note, since it is the begining part, most OC's probabaly won't appear until Besaid or Luca if best, now please enjoy your RP.

 

OOC: Considering the fact that where he lands up involves two of my characters, I'll be nice and start us off.

BIC: The sound of water filled the ears of a young man who was washed ashore a small piece of land, he groaned and woke up. Looking around, he noted that he was in some kind of ruins, and it was cold. He thought to what happened to him earlier and shouted, "Anybody there? Auron! Heeey!" Nothing but silence, looking up, he saw a bird fly away, towards the large structure.

Deciding to follow it, the young man swam towards it, reaching it in no time. He walked along a stone structure and looked at the water below, curious. However, due to the new weight and old age, it broke. Looking around the watery area, the young man descended into the water. Suddenly, a group of fish surrounded him, and the young man was forced to fight them. The moment he finished off the group of fish, a massive fish creature approached them, knocking over some stones along the way. Managing to dive out of the way, the young man watched as the big fish gulped the little fish. Unfortunately, the big fish saw him, and a new battle. After a few slashes, the young man began to swim away from the massive creature. He shouted in surprise.

"Whoa!"

Looking around, the young man saw an opening he can swim into. He began to swim to the opening as quickly as possible, as the fish began to gain on him. The fish nearly had him entirely in its mouth as the young man was able to be avert disaster. However, he was flung through the opening into another section of the building, managing to land safely into a thin layer of water. Several stones from above collapsed and blocked the passage. The young man sighed in relief as he stood up.

'I had made it out of the frying pan...and into the freezer. I thought I was going to die in this place.' He thought to himself as he looked around and entered another section of the building. It was huge, and entirely empty, so it seemed. He looked around for a moment and rubbed his hands together as he shook, he shivered, "Cold... Need...fire."

With a little more looking around, the young man found somewhere he could make a fire in the center of the room and found the necessary flint and tinder, the fire was made. The young man warmed his hands above the fire, then lied down, looking up at the high dome ceiling. His mind kept asking questions like where was he, what happened to Auron, what was Sin, and what was going to happen now, but he shouted what his stomach was thinking, "I need food!" He thought back to a event that happened before all this craziness.

-Flashback-

"What do you want?" The young man asked, clearly upset his caretaker, a older man in a red coat that had his left arm inside like a sling. Looking at him, the man said, recalling something, "It was a bad call. Your team lost because of you." "You came to say THAT?" The young man said, almost shouting at him, the man said, looking solemn, "It's been...ten years. I thought you'd be crying." "Who, me?" The young man said in surprise as the older man walked off, a mysterious young boy in a purple hoodie came in and said, "You cried."

-Flashback end-

The young man was sitting down as the fire was beginning to wither and dying. Sensing the young man something ran along the wall of the Ruins. The young man, falling asleep, quickly woke up and looked around before noticing the dying fire. "Hey, wait! Wait! Don't go out on me! Just hold on. I'll get more wood!" Before he could move, the young man saw the big bug on the wall. The large insect ran around the walls, then jumped down, face to face with the young man. Partway through the battle with the inscet, the young man saw one of the ruins' doors blast open. A group of people walk through, holding guns, led by two strangely-dressed girls with goggles, one with blond hair in a ponytail and another with brown hair in a side ponytail, who joined the fight.

"You on my side? Cool!" The young man said, the brown haired girl used a bomb while the blond haired girl used a claw, the creature eventually died, leaving the young man to come face to face with the strangely-dressed girls. Both of them lifted their visor/goggles. The young man stared with his mouth open for a moment, noting that while the blond haired girl had green eyes and the brown haired girl had blue eyes, they both had a spiral in their eyes, before breathing a sigh of relief. "Whew! That was close." One of the people walked up behind the young man and grabbed his hair. "Hey, lemme go!"

Several more people surrounded the man and pointed guns at him, all talking in a strange language.

"Fryd ec drec?"

"Y fiend! Eh risyh teckieca!"

"Oac! Ed ec cu!"

The young man stiffed when one of them pulled a knife and held it in front of his throat.

"Fa gemm ed?"

The blond haired girl suddenly spoke up, speaking the same strange language. "Fyed! Fryd ev ed ec risyh?" It sounded like she was defending him. The person with the knife pointed it at the girls, almost threatening them as he spoke.

"Drao yna dra cysa eh taydr."

The brown haired girl spoke this time, "E vunpet ed! Fa pnehk ed fedr ic! Huf cdyht tufh, ymm uv oui!" The blond haired girl walked up to the young man and whispered something, "Cunno." She kneed him in the stomach and held him as he fell unconscious. There was a large boat floating on an ocean which spans as far as the eye can see, the young man woke up and realized he was surrounded by the people from earlier. One of them turned around and saw he woke up. "Ced, lybdeja!"

He hit the young man, who fell back. Holding the wounded spot, the young man shouted, "Hey, that hurts!"

"Hu sujehk, rayn?"

"Whoa... Okay."

[Two more people approached him, it was the girls from earlier, and a guy with a blonde mohawk. The mohawk guy said, "Caynlr res!" then began to do a lot of actions with his arms to signify swimming, all the while grunting. "Right. Whatever." The young man said, bored for some reason, the mohawk guy asked, angrily, "Tu oui hud cbayg?" He showed him a necklace of some sort and pointed to it, grunting once more, this time, the young man got angry, "I said I don't understand!" "Ehcumahla!" He shouted, one of the Al Bhed pointed his gun at the young man's chest, the blond haired girl spoke up again, "Fyed!" "He said you can stay if you make yourself useful." The brown haired girl explained,

"You...You understand me?" The young man said, surprised as he looked at the two girls. He got hit in the back by one of the guy's guns, and groaned, "All right, I'll work!" The brown haired girl said, "We found some ancient ruins right beneath us. It's not active now, but there should still be some power left. We're gonna go down there and activate it... and then we should be able to salvage the big prize!" The young man murmured in agreement, the two girls said, excited, "Okay! Let's get to work!"

"Roger!" The young man said, sounding excited as well. The trio jumped over the side of the boat, into the water. They made their way to the underwater ruins and traveled through the ruins, powering up certain devices as they go along. It's not long before the trio realized that they're not the only ones in the Underwater ruins... as they returned to where they began, one of the creatures who lived there attacked. They eventually defeated it and left the Underwater ruins and returned to the ship. Some of the people seemed glad about the discovery, "Fa vuiht dra airship! Dra naluntc fana nekrd."

Jumping back on board, the young man shook the water off of him. Some of the Al Bhed were speaking, and began to walk to the door leading into the boat, "Huf, ruf du tnyk ed ib?" The young man went to follow the people. However, one of them turned to speak to him, "Oui, uidceta!" He hit the young man to keep him outside and he stepped back. "Hey, I helped out, didn't I?" The people entered the ship, as the door closed behind them. Sometime later, on the deck of the boat, the young man was lying down, trying to ignore his growling stomach, "Uhh...hungry."

Someone approached and kicked him in the shoulder. It's the girls from before; the blond haired girl was carrying a plate of food while the brown haired girl had a jug of water. The blond haired girl put the tray on the floor for him. The young man was happy, he said, "Whoa! Right on!" He began to scarf down the food so fast that he began to choke. The brown haired girl went "Hey!" and tossed him the jug of water. He opened it and drank it, concluding in a relieved sigh, the blond haired girl said, "It's 'cause you eat too fast!" The young man stood up, laughing, moving around, and finally stretching in relief. The girls walked up behind him, there was another "Hey!"

"Hello there. What is your name?" The young man said, nicely as he looked at the girls. The two girls looked at each other, then each introduced themselves, "Rikku."

"Kari."

"Whoa! You really do understand! I'm Tidus!" Tidus introduced happily, going "Woo hoo!" and laughed, but asking,
"Why didn't you say so earlier?" "We didn't get a chance to!" Rikku said, Kari held her head as she said, "Everyone thought oui were a fiend." "Uh..."we"?" Tidus asked, confused, Kari smiled and explained, "Oh, "oui" means "you"."

After a brief pause, Tidus asked, "Who are you guys, anyway?" "We're Al Bhed. Can't you tell?" Rikku said, simply as she and Kari looked out at the sea before turning to him, "Wait. You're not an Al Bhed-hater, are you?" "I don't even know what an Al Bhed is." Tidus explained to them, Kari asked him, "Where are you from?" "Zanarkand." Tidus said, proud of his home, "I'm a blitzball player. Star player of the Zanarkand Abes!"

"Did you hit your head or something?" Rikku asked, worried as much as Kari was, Tidus said, "Um, you guys hit me." "Oh, right... Do you remember anything before that?" Kari said, embarrassed.

'So I told them everything there was to tell about Zanarkand... About life there, blitzball, and Sin's attack... and about how Auron and I were engulfed in this light. I just said things as they came to mind. But then I started to wonder.' After his explaintation, both Kari and Rikku looked solemn, noticing their face, Tidus turned to them and asked, "Did I say something funny?" "You were near Sin. Don't worry, you'll be better in no time. They say your head gets funny when Sin is near. Maybe you just had some kind of dream?" Rikku said, trying not to be too concern for him, Tidus asked in disbelief, "You mean I'm sick?"

"Because of Sin's toxin, yeah." Kari said, simply, Tidus asked them, "You sure?" "Yeah, there is no Zanarkand anymore. Sin destroyed it a thousand years ago. So...no one plays blitzball there." Rikku said, simply as she could, Tidus was visibly surprised. He turned to look at the two girls, he shouted, "What do you mean, a thousand years ago? But I saw Sin attack Zanarkand! You're saying that happened a thousand years ago? No way!" Kari asked, "You said..." "You play blitzball?" Tidus gave a small "Uh huh", Kari began to think and hit her hand, she said, "You know, you should go to Luca. Someone might know who you are, or you might find someone you recognize."

"Luca?" Tidus asked, confused, Rikku and Kari shook their heads, walked around a bit and talked to each other, then returned to Tidus with Rikku tapping him on his back, there was a smile on both her and Kari's faces, she said, "Okay, leave it to me and Kari! We'll get you to Luca, promise! You'd rather stay here?" Tidus immediately said, "Uh uh", Kari grinned as she said, "Okay, We'll go tell the others. Wait here." The two girls began to leave, then turned around, she said, "Oh, and one thing. Don't tell anyone you're from Zanarkand, okay? Yevon says it's a holy place. You might upset someone."

Surprised, Tidus muttered "Oh...uh huh", and then leaned on the railing, waiting for the girls. He tried to think about what he was told, who was Yevon, what was Luca, was Zanarkand really destroyed, he groaned, thinking to himself. 'My Zanarkand, some kind of holy place? Yeah right, I thought. Since when? Yevon? Sin? Luca? I thought Sin just took me to a faraway place, that I could go back in a day or two. But a thousand years into the future? No way!' In frustration, Tidus kicked the crane area and fell; a loud rumble was heard as the ship shook. In the distance, something blast out of the water. The door opened; people run onto the deck and fell down. Something in the water approached the ship, one of the people shouted, "Sin!"

"Sin ec lusa!"

"Ihtan ic! Ihtan ic!"

Tidus fell overboard, missing Kari's outstretched hand to save him and got sucked into a whirlpool, for the second time to him, everything went black again.

 

Tidus landed in the water. He quickly stuck his head out. "Rikku!" he yelled. Suddenly, out of seemingly nowhere, a Blitzball flew toward him and hit him in the head. "Blitzball!" he said to himself. He turned to look for the thrower or kicker. He saw nothing except a small beach where people were standing, facing in his direction.

"Hey! You ok?" Came a voice.

"Heeeyy!" Tidus replied. He dove under water and hit the ball up with his head, before doing a flip and sending the ball flying toward the island with a powerful kick.

 

The forementioned man watched as the Blitzball came zooming towards him at a fast speed and narrowingly avoided it as the ball curved in the air and out of sight, the beach players staring in rather amazement or disbelief as the man gave a small chuckle, the kid obivously wasn't no amateur, so he must have a Blitzball Team somewhere, he couldn't be from the Goers or the Al Bhed Psyches, it was highly doubtful the kid played for the Ronsos or the Guados, maybe from Killka?

~Outside Besaid Village~

A young man wearing the blackest coat on his body and sword sheathed on his back, he was there on offical business to slay a few fiends on the road, not much pay admittedly but he wasn't complaining, not many people would come to Besaid for a living, he did meet the Crusader's as well.

"They do a good job protecting the village, but it never hurts to ask for a helping hand." He thought to himself, he was only going to get like 5 gil out of this which isn't alot but he had to remember, people were living in of Sin nowadays since the Calm ended.

 

Tidus swam up to the shore and looked at everyone there. "Yo! Hiya!" he said. They all looked at him in surprise. "What?" Tidus said, thinking that he may have overdone it a bit with that last move.

 

"You...wanna do that move... one more time?" He asked Tidus, obivously still reeling from surprise form what he witnessed beforehand.

~Besaid Falls~

Masaru charged forward at a Condor flapping near the ground and drove his black sword through it, pinning the monster down as it struggled to get free but that wasn't going to happen at all, it merely waited until the beast stopped moving to signify it's death as it turned to pryeflies as he pulled his sword out from the ground before spotting a Dingo sniff it's prey, that being him of course. "I'm not going to be anyone's lunch today." He said said rather calmly as the Dingo leapt for him at breakneck speed that only four legged animals could achieve in their lifetime but Masaru merely sshifted back into a another stance and waited for the DIngo to come in dangerously close to the point his fangs were close to his face and shifted his weight, running his blade across the side of the monster and stopping after he slain the beast as it felt down, becoming pyreflies as well.

 

Tidus looked at everyone. "Uuh... sure, just clear some room and toss me a Blitzball." he said. He got into position to preform his move. A ball was tossed and he repeated themove, hitting it off his head first than using a powerful bicycle kick to send the Blitzball flying towards the water at an incredibly high speed.

 

"You no amateur, who you play for?" Wakka sked teh young blond, he was very impressed someone at this kid's age had such talent for Blitzball, he must be from a team, but his clothes didn't say Killka Beasts for that matter, little did he know, the youth's response would be a surpise.

 

Tidus looked at him triumphantly. "The Zanarkand Abes!" Tidus suddenly realized how stupid he sounded. "I-I mean... I don't remember... Sin's toxin got me. My head's all fuzzy." he quickly said.

 

The Blitzball Players mublmed as Wakka litsened to the youth. "Sin's toxin got to you, but you're still alive, praise be to Yevon." He said and put right forearm over left forearm, fingers spread out, hands curved in the shape of a circle, and bowed to teh Youth and looked to his team. "Alright, back to pratice!" he called out as they spread out and he held otu hsi hand.

"I'm Wakka, coach and captain of the Besaid Aurochs, brudda." he said and heard the youth's stomach growl. "What? You hungry?" he asked and noticed teh youth's sheepish smile. "Okay! Back to the village. I'll get you somethin'!" he said and turned around to begin walking.

 

Tidus followed Wakka. Feeling like he could trust him, he decided to ask. "It's true Zanarkand was destroyed, right? A thousand years ago? So it's just a big pile of rubble now, isn't it?" he said. Thinking back, he wondered where Auron had ended up.

 

"Long time ago, there were a whole lot of cities in Spira. Big cities with machina--machines--to run 'em, People played all day and let the machina do the work. And then, well, take a look." Wakka indicated to the ruins.

"Sin came, and destroyed the machina cities. And Zanarkand along with 'em. Yeah, that was about a thousand years ago, just like you said. If you ask me, Sin's our punishment for letting things get out of hand. What gets me, though... we gotta suffer, 'cause of what some goofballs did way back when! Course, we must always repent for our sins! That's important! It's just that, it's hard to keep at it sometimes, you know?"

 

Tidus stood there in awe at the ruins. "It's just as Rikku said." he thought, "Wakka and Rikku can''t both be lying. Why would they?" he wondered where Rikku was, and where Auron was.

Auron. This was all his fault. It was...as if he had known all this would happen. But was that possible? It seemed highly unlikely.

 

Wakka laughed and continued as he got Tidus into a headlock. "But you from the Zanarkand Abes--that was a good one! Hey, I'm not saying that team never existed, ya? But you gotta figure a team living in luxury like that'd be pretty soft, eh?" He said and walked off.

Masuaru breathed a bit, taking a break under the shade of a tree.

 

Tidus sighed. "Maybe if I can find Sin... I can fix all this." he thought. Tidus kept following Wakka. He wondered... His old man would probably mock him for wanting to go home. At that moment, Tidus decided he'd just live life until he could return to Zanarkand.

 

-Within the Temple-

Inside the temple of Besaid, beyond the Cloister of Trials were two figures. One was a young woman with long black hair in a black dress and the other was a large blue cat-like beast, keeping so quiet that one would think that they were statues. They patiently waited for the apprentice summoner who was silently praying to the fayth in the chamber and hoping that the summoner would come out as a full-fledged summoner.

-Savage Ship-

Rikku and Brother watched Kari prepare and load her few belongings onto a machina powered boat to take her to Luca. Rikku hugged her and said, "Be careful, for my sake, okay?" "No worries, Rikku, I'll be fine, I promise. Remember, unless they're looking at my eyes, no one knows I'm part of Al Bhed." Kari said, hugging her foster sister and looked at Brother, Kari made Brother promise that Rikku behaved and left.

-Moonflow, Northern Bank-

Standing along the shores of the northern banks of the Moonflow was a young girl, if one was look at her more close, they would see that she looked more like a young woman, her calm posture and her snow white regal kimono style sleeveless priestess robes, in contrast to her outfit she wore a pair of black boots on her feet. Wrapped around her waist was a quiver of arrows. One would easily be able to tell she was one of the Guado, elf-like ears, prominent veins that could faintly seen through the light make-up on her face, over-sized hands which were hidden through the magic of her bracelets, long limbs and her light blue hair that almost looked like a plant. No one was sure why she wanted to hide the fact she was Guado, but they never question it either for any reason because of her connection to the tribe's leader.

"Lukya Guado, where are you doing here?!!!" A young voice shouted at Lukya Guado, future leader of the Guado, making her turn around. Running toward her was a younger Guado with bright flaming red hair and wearing priestess in-training robes, she pouted at Lukya, "You have everyone worried about you, you know? We still need to get ready for the trip to Luca." "Alexan, right, sorry about that." Lukya said, looking away and turned back to the Moonflow. "It's just..... Father's death still troubles me......." Alexan wanted to say something, but they heard the voice of Tromell and headed back to Guadosalam.

OOC: I guess I got bored for waiting for my turn to post and decided to post now.

 

A lone teen silently walked out of the village of Besaid. On his back was a huge broadsword that looked extremely heavy. Eyes closed the teen sighed and smiled as he put out a hand and smiled as he stared at it "My second Aeon has been obtained. I can now summon Valefor...getting closer to my goal" the summoner named Ryo said to himself as he walked. Continuing on his path he looked up and noticed a few people ahead, somebody who is obviously from the village and a strange blond haired man in a strange outfit. "hmm I didn't expect to see anybody out of the village" Ryo said keeping an eye on Tidus. For some reason there was something strange about the blond

 

Wakka had led Tidus to a lake or a river and did push him in before making him yield to being par tof the Aurochs but then they were heading for the village as they were tlaking about the victory call for the team, Tidus decided on Victory itself and that did kind of give Wakka inspired and more hope than before, how he never thought of it, it was ove rhis head, he did show the young man the prayer before heading off his house, pointing the young blonde to the Crusader's Lodge for help on learning what they were but the teen soon returned after a few hours perhaps, looking bushed and tired.

"Take a nap, you look bushed." he offered a sthe blonde did so without much complaints as food wasn't ready yet andhe was called ot the temple about soemthing.

 

"Ah... Alright..." Tidus walked over to the bed. It looked comfortable enough, so he threw himself onto it.

Tidus awoke after a while. "Wakka? Wakka?" he asked, looking for the other guy.

 

Wakka was talking with teh priest ebfore hearing footsteps and turned to notice Tidus approaching who asked him if somethign was wrong. "The Summoner hasn't returned from the Trial." he said and Tidus was confused. "Well Apprentice Summoner really..." He looked up at the stairway. There's a room in there called the Cloister of Trials. Beyond is where the apprentice summoner prays. If the prayer is heard, the apprentice becomes a fully-fledged summoner, remember?" he asked him.
