...Yeah. I rented this game over the weekend and it's ridiculously fun! Personally, I think it's kind of challenging (not on Fire Emblem's level, though), but this is a nice change from all the Pokémon I've been playing... >>; Also: Does anybody else hate Ultima Crystals with a burning passion? :/gasp:
I love this game. It's a game from my childhood. I've passed it around 5 times with the 300 missions completed, and other times just playing the story. It's pretty amazing. I love all of it.
I love this game! It's been a long time since I've played it, now that I think about it. It's pretty long so I only got the chance to go through it once, but it was tons of fun and I'd like to play it again someday. I really enjoy the battle system, I know some people can find it a bit tedious and slow, but I thought it was great. The job system was fun without being too complicated, but there was always lots to do. I loved the characters, too. Spoiler I liked that each one of them had some sort of fault or insecurity, and that Ivalice was their escape. I think Ritz was my favorite though. ♥ Kind of a bittersweet ending, too. I think I might have wanted to stay in Ivalice. :c
I didn' t enjoy it nearly as much as I enjoyed FFT. Both FFTA have short kindergarten stories compared to FFT complex scenario. The races concept seemed like a good idea, but in the end it just felt like a character customization limitation, and the judges were just a HUGE pain in the ass. At least we did' t have to wait for MPs to grow, as in FFTA2 (meaning spells were utterly useless).
Well, I haven't played the original, so I can't really offer an opinion on whether it was better or worse. :c Might give it a go, though. But I like the childish story of FFTA, it's just a really cute game. It might come off as a simplistic story, and let's face it, it is, but I think that makes it not only more endearing but also easier to relate to. I've been replaying it lately. <3
Yeah, I haven't played the original one either. But this game is great on it's own right. I'm pretty sure it doesn't have the same political intrigue the original had, but the story holds up fairly well, even if it's not some political mumbo-jumbo. One of the particularly good things I found in it was that it wasn't overly complex, but still fairly customizable. I feel as though A2 complicated things a tad notch, but that's just me.
oh my goodness i used to play this game like non-stop when i was in late elementary school/early middle school. i liked the original one better, but i think i couldn't tell the difference really when i was that young, as long as it entertained me i was okay with whatever game. i actually think it's one of the few "spin-off" FF games that i actually enjoyed regardless of the slew of others that were available on the market. i didn't ever play A2 but i heard that it wasn't the original characters and that a couple of them do make cameo appearances but other than that i don't know too much on it.
Ugh that reminds me, I never got around towards finishing this game, it was quite fun to say the least - I'm just not that great at strategy RPG's :P
This was like one of my first Final Fantasy games so of course I love it. Me and my friend would play this game like crazy back in the day. Sure it doesn't live up to the original FFT but was that ever the intention in the first place? Seeing as how the scenarios were made by two different guys and the only reason that they happen to share a name is because they're both Tactical RPGS. Really? I personally thought that A2 expanded and balanced the system pretty well.
