Already tried searching for a topic like this and found none. After I had to put my files on a backup disk and put the backup disk back on the computer I can't open my files. I've already tried changing the owner... Everytime I try to open up files it says: Aline the Hunter You don't have permission to open this file. Contact file owner or an administrator to obtain permission. The files DO belong to me, all the ones that don't work are all my fanfictions and stories... And when I change the owner it says: Access (C:/Users/Kris/Desktop/TASHAS~/Itachi~1/ALINET~4.RTF was denied (or something similar to that.) This happens to not only aline but to other Wordpad doucemnts AND notepad documents also.
Try the easy solution first -- when you open them, instead of just clicking them, rightclick on them and choose "Run as Administrator..." If that doesn't work post back, I know that when I first switched to Vista I was having a similar problem, and that helped me tremendously.
If what Misty said doesn't work then you can try turning off the User Account Control, move the files, and then turn it back on.
