It'd be nice if they did since it is a favorite of mine but I really doubt it, they have to keep moving forward and not look back at previous titles meaning they should also let go of FFVII and keep focus on the latest installment.

It would be really nice if Square Enix could do some sequels for their FF games other than VII and X. Especially with games produced/created/designed by different people other than Nomura or others of the like (not that I am tired of Nomura but change is good). I guess it all depends on the fan-demand.

But overall, I wouldn't mind a sequel... we'll just have to see.

    That'll never happen.

Square-Enix is like an obsessed ex-girlfriend...

Which sucks because after Final Fantasy VII came out, I always thought of Final Fantasy as ONE series, now we have all these compilations and sequels

Squall is from FFVIII and he has nothing on FFIX's hero, Zidane.

Oh wow, I knew we were talking about IX but I thought VIII for some reason as I typed....thanks for catching that.
Well Square-Enix still needs to move forward, not back.

Square Enix need to stop with the remakes and milking Final Fantasy VII and work on future titles. A Chrono Trigger sequel for the Wii or DS would be nice. I was looking forward to that fan made game called Chrono Trigger: Echo Tears until Square told them not to publish it at the last moment.

I've also waited long enough for FF XIII. It's still not out yet. I hope they learn their lesson.

Final Fantasy sequels just shouldn't happen, because they've failed so badly so far. A remake of Final Fantasy IX would be better, to bring the game into the current so new people can enjoy it. It's less likely to fail, and a sequel would be more popular if more people played the original.

Wow he said some of the characters
were sexually attractive...thats something i have never heard of for FF9
    xD
but seriously, what can they do for a sequel?
I can think of one that isn't all that originial
The last Boss, Necron, said in the end before he disappeared that
"As long as theres' life and death, i will exist."
He is enternal..but c'mon! how boring would it be if he was a boss to overcome? They never talked about Garnet's real father, or how he died..
or there are several tales told among the statues
in Alexandria about a women warrior from a war
they could dig into the past..but i'd rather see zidane and Garnet
maybe a remake would be better
    rather than a sequel

    Don't necrobump unnessisary threads.

But, there is a few things I could imagine them to do for a FF9 sequel. Heck, I wrote one for an English assignment in high school and got the highest marks for it

    Anywho, ~locked.
