Ok, so after playing the game for a while, I've decided to make a tier list of all the characters in the game. God Tier Cinque (Second highest attack and third highest defense out of everyone, this girl is a ****ing tank. She's a bit tricky to use, but once you learn how to use her, she's pretty deadly. She's usually only good for close range, but her moves like Earth Impulse help bridge the gap) Machina (One of the highest attack, balanced magic stats, mid-tier defense and easy to use) Ace (High defense, decent ATK and balanced magic stats. His card changing abilities makes him a very versatile character, and is good at most ranges) High Tier Trey (He's good for both short and long range encounters. His arrows makes it easy to land critical hits, however, his DEF is rather low) Seven (A good mid to long-range character. She can gain abilities to capture enemies and bring them closer for the kill. Her magic stats are pretty well balanced) Eight (Great berzerker with high defense, but low magic stats. EDIT: Also, most of his abilities don't take up any AP.) Sice (Mid to high balanced stats, easy to use) Mid Tier Deuce (She's a support character through and through, so I think this is a safe tier to put her in) Nine (Mediocre magic stats, but balanced ATK and DEF) Rem (High ATK, good close and mid-range mage, but low defense and bad at long range) Cater (Good long distance character, balanced stats but low DEF) Jack (The highest attack with great maneuverability, but really low DEF, and mediocre magic stats) Low Tier Queen (She's outclassed by Rem in every way, except HP, and is built to be a support character, but is pretty useless compared to Rem and Deuce. Doesn't really have a niche) King (Long distance character, with high attack and Ice MAG, but everything else is lower. Is less balanced than Cater) What do you guys think? Sound about right?
Personally, I think Cater, Sice, and Seven are the best three to use for most situations. Cater's movement and attack speeds are very fast, allowing you to dodge attacks while her weapon charges, release a Max Charge attack, and get straight back to dodging. I rarely ever have to use the actual Dodge ability with her. If you're patient, you can use her to draw out and pick off individual enemies very easily. You already covered why I like Sice and Seven, so I don't see a need to add anything. I *never* have them all in my party, though. No way am I going to risk having them get picked off before I need them. The ****? He's the hardest character I've used. Even locked on, I can never hit anything with him.
Not having Rem in top tier? Incorrect list. She easily destroys everyone else in magical ability. Plus she has some of the best abilities ever. She basically has infinite magic. That's amusing. I found Machina to be the best melee character of the cast. His combos are slow but the startup to his first hit is ridiculously easy to time with Kill Sights. Plus, Assault Mode and Darkside wreck everything. ...Also Assault Mode just looks really awesome.
True, but her charge attack is rather slow (if I recall correctly), so it's only good for close range. You think so? I think he's one of the most accessible out of everyone. That may be true, but she just seemed rather impractical to me. She looks good on paper, but while playing her she didn't seem to pack much of a punch, imo. Can't deny that.[DOUBLEPOST=1406927362][/DOUBLEPOST] I really like Sice's psycho vortex ability. It's so damn awesome.
Were you trying to use her physical attacks? Because, admittedly, those really are weak. Spamming spells and her abilities are where she really shines.
Yeah, that might've been it. In all of my teams, I like to keep a mage/healer, a good ranger, and a reliable offensive character. I usually just save the mage's MP (Rem, in this case) almost exclusively for healing. Don't know why, but I feel as though the only worthwhile spell is the Ice spell. Maybe I'm wrong.
