Adams say, "We were going through it after Christmas and she brought to my attention that there were some adult videos downloaded. It's supposed to be a brand new phone. I never would have expected on a brand new phone in a box to come out. There's not one, not two, but 6 that range from 5 minutes to 30 minutes long."

Adams bought the pre-paid phone on December 21st and later found the videos had been downloaded from the internet more than a month earlier. "They were downloaded November 18, 2012. Before you even bought it? Before I even bought it. I think that other parents need to be aware. You buy your child a phone, even thought they say its brand new its in a box always go through a check everything. Don't always assume. This is the only thing I'm worried about it, it happens to another child."

Adams contacted Walmart, which sold her the phone, and was told they don't sell refurbished phones-- only new ones. The manager has offered to replace the phone with a new one and says he's investigating how those videos got on that phone.

Remember, just because the cell phone you buy is supposed to be brand new-- check it carefully-- just to be sure.

This reminds me of the child who got a 3ds for Christmas that came pre-loaded with similar stuff.
It should be no surprise that the 3ds came from GameStop where quality control is non-existent

Forgetting that the "new" phone wasn't new, companies should be ashamed that things like this can get past them, there should be no excuses for situations like these because they have systems set in place to ensure this very thing doesn't happen, and while cases like these are rare, even one is too many when your selling things accessible to children.
