Along with the unveiling of a new virtual console for the Wii U (thank god, now put Donkey Kong Country back on it) with Gameboy Advanced titles, Nintendo revealed that they will offer a trial campaign for the service and honor the 30th anniversary of the Famicom by releasing a title each month for thirty cents.

Titles available for the pricing listed below:

Now till February 21st: Balloon Fight (NES)
    February 20th to March 21st: F-Zero (SNES)
March 20th to April 18th: Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream (NES)
April 17th to May 16th: Kirby's Adventure (NES) (Honestly, the Dream Collection is still a better deal).
May 15th to June 13th: Super Metroid (SNES) (THIRTY EFFING CENTS FOR SUPER METROID?!?!?!)
June 12th to July 11th: Yoshi (NES)
July 15th to August 13th: Donkey Kong (NES)

This looked promising but there are just not enough games for offer to make me too excited. Shame though, because this could have been a lot more successful with the right games on offer.(Metroid for 30 cents in quite amazing though)

So basically Nintendo's saying people who were stupid enough to support them early on have to pay extra to play the games they bought.
Sounds like a good way to gain customer loyalty!

Who in their right mind would pay for it? If you have a wii you can already play it, and if you sold your wii ot get the wii U you cannot transfer.

People who want to play it on their gamepad, access the Miiverse, or play the game without having to boot two seperate emulators

Transferring virtual console games is free. You can't transfer saves (which is a completely different issue), but you don't have to buy it twice.

Transferring Virtual Console games to the emulated wii on the Wii U is free, if you want the same game on your wii u, it costs extra

I'm trying to remember the exact process, but yeah, I had a brain fart there. You're right. Which is a load of crap. And no, Nintendo, it doesn't count if you try to justify it by saying that you're getting the enhance features.

Especially considering the 'enhanced' version costs the same as the normal version >.>

Isn't there a discount if you're paying for the Wii U transfer?

Yup, you can buy an NES game for a dollar, and SNES games for a dollar fifty.
so basically, the games cost 6 dollars and 9.50 respectively, if you already own them, or their usual price if you bought them normally.

Ok, I see your point. While the transfer fee is considerably lower than simply rebuying the game, to buy it fresh is the same price.

It looks interesting but the title choice isn't the best imo. I do like super metroid for 30 cents being a choice though. Probably not gonna try for this but it was interesting.

You have a to pay $1 if you already transferred it. Guess what? Nintendo has a right to charge for these services.

You're right. and they could charge twelve hundred dollars for it.
Having the right to do something doesn't automatically cause it to become exempt from critique
