Besides 3 Dog's talk earlier this year about a possible sequel, another possible rumor of Fallout 4 is up in the air. On November 14, 2013, Reddit users discovered this site called thesurvivor.com. The site is completely black with a countdown timer to Dec. 11, 2013 with a constant sound of morse code in the background. As of today on Dec. 1, 2013, a message has been added in code and after that, "Nuclear Winter has come." At the bottom, there is also the symbol (forgot what it meant) that shows up in the Fallout games. I don't know any other game talking about a nuclear winter other than Fallout. http://thesurvivor2299.com/ This could've came by as a hoax or a joke, but Bethesda actually refused to comment whether this site was true or not. With all the messages and morse codes all deciphered, they show strong signs of upcoming info on a possible Fallout sequel.
It's almost definitely a hoax. When the site first came out, the Morse Code on it read a date in the European format even though Zenimax always uses the American format. When someone noticed, it was fixed less than a day later. The website is also hosted by GoDaddy while Zenimax always hosts its websites on its own servers. I'd say the chances of it being real are extremely low.
Also, there's a Google Doc out there that organizes and explains all the messages/codes/words throughout the site for those interested. Please undrstand that the ARG is fake, but 2299 is still up in the air. https://docs.google.com/document/d/...ZZiM0Rh-odwWCDc3VEMVE/preview?pli=1&sle=true#
Not anymore. It was fake. When the timer reached zero, all that happened was a big Rick Roll video. Now there's a message all about how the whole thing was a hoax.
Aww yea just noticed that too. Man even with some major media outlets over this, I thought there was going to be SOME portion of truth to this. Bleh, guess I leaned my lesson.
