Chain of Memories Expert Help needed on Ansem

Okay...Where to begin....

In reverse/rebirth (my first runthrough) im level 50. I have 305 HP, 21 AP, and 54 DP. I'm on basement 1 and im on the Ansem at the end of the basement (not sure it thats the FINAL boss)

anyway...Everytime I tackle Ansem, he owns me. hard. I can't even get his first bar of health down all the way.

My startegy is to use Jafar as soon as the battle starts, drain as much HP as I can without him breaking my cards, then focus of going into dark mode, and attacking him with sleights....doesnt really work.

I have a few questions.
1. How often can you increase your AP?
2. How high should my stats be before trying to beat him?

I don't know. I just ran and attacked and won. I think I just got lucky.

 

Now let's see... If you're fast at stocking away cards, then stock away every card on its own except for 0s and 9s (ex. Stock an 8, go to the Reload Icon, then release it so that you don't have it anymore). Then activate the Dragon Maleficent card and use the BBA button combo with the 9s and Break any incoming Sleights with your 0s.

But if that's too complicated, just constantly CardBreak him with a Dark Firaga until his HP is gone.

Yeah, but try the Dark Firaga method too, because it's way simpler.

As for AP, 20-ish should be good enough. You're 9 away from the max AP amount, so you don't really have to level up anymore.

 

i remember trying to become dark riku as quick as possible.i also remember that i was using dark firaga most times...So let's see...I would suggest you to break his cards while attacking,and when you're dark riku,just dodge every attack that ansem does and use dark firaga.It is not so difficul is it?

 

Here's how I defeated Ansem using Riku.

At the start of the battle, immediately shift back to your 0 cards and break him. Wait for him to us his card, then break him with a 0. If you run out of 0s, use other high level cards like 8 or 9 to break him. Be patient and let him use his cards first. Stand as far as him as possible, but keep him in range for your soul eaters. That way when you break him, you'll be able to do some damage. The key is to get into dark mode . When your in dark mode, stock a dark firaga and stand near him for a moment (about 2 cm away should be enough) and wait for him to use his card. Break him using dark firaga. If your dark firaga isn't enough to break his sleighs, use your 0 cards. Keep up with this combo. When you run out of cards to stock, use your hi-potion. You have only two, so use them wisely. NEVER, and I repeat NEVER use other sleighs other than dark firaga and MM miracle, dark aura and dark break can be easily blocked by ansem's guardian. Also NEVER stock your 0 cards, as they'll have to be there to stop ansem's sleighs. If you run out of cards to stock, use dragon malificent and attack him like crazy. Use ogie boogie if you are left with 1/4 hp. Ogie is your life saver is certain situations, so use him only when your in real trouble. Collect all the mickey cards you can get and use them only when ansem is reloading his cards.

 

Ok. When he uses a '1' use a 2. When he doesn't attack use a card. Hope this helps.

I beat him with 12 Dp and was lvl34 i just have to check the lvl for certain might have been lower

Its harder to get into dm with high dp

SO gradually build up Dp instead of focusing on it

 

You always turn into Dark Mode after getting 30 Dark Points in battle. The DP stat just increases how long you can stay in Dark Mode.

 

Thanks guys! I beat Ansem and thus beat Chain of Memories *group yay*. My little brother finally beat Sora's side and is now stuck on the Riku duplicate in Twilight Town (on my second run-throuh I am as well -_-'' ) so maybe we can shift the discussion toward him?

Use Sleight Lock + Dark Aura. Notice how I beat him with base AP and less than base HP, so you should have no problem against him.

TO BREAK THE CARD, USE PARISITE CAGE. THEN USE MALICENT. WHEN YOU GO INTO DARK MODE, ATTACK LIKE THERE'S NO TOMMORROW. TO MAKE IT MORE INTENCE YELL"CAN YOU SMELL WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKING". USE 0 CARDS TO BREAK HIS SLIGHTS IN NORMAL MODE AND SLIGHTS IN DARK MODE. USE DARK ARUA ONCE OR TWICE. WHEN HE IS LOADING HIS DEAK, STOCK THREE MICKEYS TO FILL YOUR HEALTH. ONCE YOU GET HIM DOWN TO HALF, USE URSALA. WHEN HE IS BLUE, USE OGGIE BOGIE. THEN USE JAFAR. WHEN HE IS KILLED, YELL ONE MORE TIME WITH FEELING " CAN YOU SMELL WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKING"
