    I finally bought a set of Prismacolor markers on Sunday, and I tested them out recently too. However, I've never used markers before, and I *know* I can improve on something.

    deviantART link

    A link looks neater than a stretch page. Rawr. XD

    Anyway, I'm looking for any critique anyone has for it. :) Please don't just say, "OMG IT'S PRETTY!!" because that doesn't help me... and a lot of the time, I can't stand compliments... ^-^;;

    [Update]

    I have another finished piece I would like to share! ^-^;;

    deviantART link

    It is another fanart, this time of Axel and Roxas. The concept of the art was based on Japanese theatre - the hero of the drama would always have blonde/pale hair; the demon, red.

    Again, I'm looking for critique so I can improve. Any constructive criticism would be very much appreciated...

    OMFG THAT'S PRETTY.

    ... xD

    Anyway, I do really like this. The background has a nice kind of sloppy feel to it, and I'm pretty impressed that your coloring is good since you used markers. (although I really don't know anything about Prismacolor markers, so whatevs) My only complaint is that Roxas' hair looks a tad long and those lines on the bottom left. Dunno why, but they bug me. xD

    Nice job, and holy shiz that's some nice shadow on his hoodie.

    It looks great! I cant believe you colored it with markers O.o Roxas's hair is kinda long on the one side, but it still looks good. I wish I had your marker skills.

    Thank you very much...

    I noticed Roxas's hair being a little long, especially on *his* left side after you mentioned it. Usually, I don't draw it so long... *embarassed* But I do agree with you about the lines on the bottom left... Not too fond of them either.

    Thank you.

    Yeah, Roxas's hair is a little too long on his left... I'll work on drawing it consistently. :)

    I love marker art.... Just has this light yet clear feel to it, no wonder most manga artists use them for covers and such.. <3

    As a fellow newb with markers (ProMarkers in my case, haven't ever seen PrismaColours in my life), I can't really share that many tips with you. You would obviously know to always start with the lightest colour, and that it can be dangerous to mix over a sharp one. I think there's tutorials on DA concerning the type of markers you have and the use for them, like how to avoid them bleeding on the paper should you need one. (I know for sure Keysha-chan made one about that)

    I am delighted to see that you haven't fallen into the trap by covering the whole paper with colours - when you keep the white it become much more open, and I get the impression that Roxas is in some sort of a dream world, maybe in his conscience. <3 I dig the pointilism of the pants, shows that it's another type of fabric, just as it should be.

    Sorry for not having actual crits for you, I am just in awe over your drawing! When fanart has more freedom in it, it just becomes awesome eyecandy. :3

    If you make more marker art, SHOW US!! YOU MUST!!!! :D

    Yes, lol! I've always used the light colours first... especially when I would work with coloured pencils, since you can't apply a light colour over a dark colour. I have read and reviewed Keysha-chan's bleed-fix tutorial many times over, but I will take another look at before I do more marker colouring. ^_^;;

    I hate it when people do that... white space makes for excellent effects, and there's always beauty in it when it's used correctly! :D

    I will post more stuff when I finish a few pieces. There are some I'm working on right now.
