The first one isn't too bad. Though it suffers most in its composition and equality. There's a massive white hole on the left side, I suggest moving everything over a little to the left to help deal with that. It isn't in great balance because of it. Also, red + black as your main picks is a little strange. Not that it is bad, it's just very strong and has little transitional color. It's bold, you could say, but needs more blending. Or you could just add other colorsSpeaking of blending, it is quite cluttered with brush effects. Remove some of the smaller ones or you can shift them around to create a flowing structure of them.

The second one is a lot better. The only real thing you should work on is color and the effects. Your effects on the stock are very distracting, as are the very bright parts. Sharpen & erase some of the effects that overlap the stock. Also, the + thing is nice, but looks very blurry like you slapped it on. Make it a tad bolder. I'm liking that color line effect on the right, also. Tone it down just a bit though. :] Lighting is very good (basic, but good) in this one. :D
