I've never been so upset over an election in my entire life.

WHat, the House turned over to Republican? I fail to see the problem.

Agreed. I was pretty happy with the polls here in Michigan for once.

I quite liked Obama. It was nice seeing the NZ dollar comparing favourably to the USD.

    That is the problem.
My state's gubernatorial election also went to the republican (by a LANDSLIDE) but, to be honest, I didn't care for the Democrat either.
Also, whether or not I think the Republicans are....wrong for politics (to be mildly polite about it), I'm glad there's a big change. To quote someone in my school's paper when talking about how both the Republican and Democrat parties need to reinvent themselves, "I wish the leaders of my party of choice would find their spines." (For Democrats, Repubs are a different story)
Nothing happened to Obama, at least not to his seat as President.

I'm just kind of surprised that the Prop 19 (legalization of Marijuana) lost in California.

Oh well, it's not like people are gonna stop smoking it anyway. :v

Honestly, the Democrats weren't doing anything. They had their hearts in the right place with healthcare reform, but most of the country doesn't seem to want it, and that was really all they had started to accomplish among their major goals. I can't say I particularly like any of the Republican leaders right now, and the prospect of Tea Partiers in control of Congress is quite frankly frightening, but maybe a power shift like this will make something productive happen for once. Or it could cause ridiculous gridlock in Congress and nothing could happen at all. Politics sucks.

I suppose I have a really unique view then. I'm a Democrat at the state level and Republican on the federal level. Simply put, I support the basic framework idea behind the Articles. The federal government should have no right to act on me as an individual, but the state should. Granted, the federal gov't needs to be stronger than it was under the articles, but not nearly as strong as it is now.

Sharron Angle, Meg Whitman, and Christine O'Donnell lost.
....I consider that a victory for everyone.
In fact, I'm going to go jack off to this.

I found out I was a liberal some time ago. And the Democrats haven't only been working on health care(though yes, it does appear that a lot of states and people don't want it), they've also been working on the economy as well. Many people keep saying that the economy isn't improving, but that's not necessarily true. It is improving, just slowly. You can't expect immediate improvement after 1 term.

I actually had an argument with someone about the healthcare the other day.
They say it's bad because it can take "weeks to see a doctor."

And also, things have been accomplished. Just nothing monumental. And the main thing that has been accomplished, healthcare, got so much propaganda that it's been downplayed and showed in a negative light.

I like coffee over tea, but that's just me.
