    It's likely that they won't die out. A Mexican company(which is popular down here) is planning on buying the brand...and probably all of Hostess I think.

    It's cause the Hostess company had a strike, and the business owners were like "Whatever." So they shut down all Hostess factories and Twinkies will disappear off the shelf along with other Hostess products.


    Edit: Although, you guys probably already knew that. >>

    Twinkies on their own are alright I guess, but what I'm really gonna miss is a cake my aunt makes for the holidays that has Twinkies as an ingrediant.
    Although there's always off-brand Twinkies.
