everyone is disabling rep

It is under general settings in the user cp


And I hid it because I noticed rep meant automatic respect in a lot of cases. I realize there is a bit of a 'chicken and the egg' thing going on, but I preferred to take myself out of that. Then I became staff which if anything has a stronger version of that effect.

 

Oh no, they disabled rep. What are you going to do now? Cut your wrists? Stop caring and move on.

I disable mine because I'd rather people judge me for my merit than for my reputation

I earned the first dozen-something gems and I intend to earn whatever else I get

I don't see the point in spending the effort to disable it but I never really got the point.
Rep if you want to, but it makes more sense to just say if you like them or not.
