This is technically about KH1. In Ansem Report 2 Ansem Seeker of Darkness wrote about his experiments.

"It is my duty to expose what this darkness really is. I shall conduct the following experiments:

Extract the darkness from a person's heart.
 Cultivate darkness in a pure heart.
 Both suppress and amplify the darkness within.

The experiments caused the test subject's heart to collapse, including those of the most stalwart. How fragile our hearts are! My treatment produced no signs of recovery. I confined those who had completely lost their hearts beneath the castle."

The last sentence explains what is in those other rooms in the hallway leading to the Chamber of Repose! What exactly could they be? Normal Heartless? Or could they be something even more sinister? Only time will tell...

I think it's kind of amusing that he writes about that first one like he's never done it before.

So if he wanted to "cultivate the darkness in a pure heart" then he'd have to have a princess of heart with him. You think that he had taken one of them before Maleficent did or that he just assumed that people had pure hearts?

Interesting I wonder how much he actually knew. It would be good to see and possibly fight the 'failed' subjects. Though it seems a bit harsh you know testing on people and then basically destroying their souls and turning them into monsters...

I'm pretty sure that a Princess of Heart can have no darkness in their hearts so he wouldn't be able to do that. The only person that I think would have a pure enough heart would be Sora. The person would need an incredible strong heart as well to be able to go through this experiment because even Xehanort said that the strongest hearts that he could find collapsed.

If he used a princess of heart, then it probably was Kairi, because she was a resident of radiant garden, it could explain her loss of memory when she went to destiny Islands.

I think you may just be onto something there.

Also, remember those hearts formed an incomplete 'Keyblade of People's Hearts'. It's a Keyblade not created by chains of memories. Just a little note there.

Though, do you find it interesting? Princesses of Heart can't produce a Heartless because their heart flees the body, and either finds a vessel or becomes part of a Keyblade. The body can't become a Nobody, either. It's not Kairi's body that created Naminé, after all.

Back on subject, I have this kinda dumb idea. There have to be tons of Heartless confined below - and the Cavern of Remembrance also matches up with this idea of being 'confined below the castle', though it's slightly less literal about this than the castle dungeon.

Yes, he or she means the first Org members.

Terranort, Braig, Dilan, Even, Eleaus, and Ienzo.

The ones that were working on that experiment, Lea and Isa fell shortly after that apparently.

This will probably be covered at some point or the other by the obvious stream of KH games that incoming (Nomura wants one out every year.), does seem like it has some potential.

What do you mean "we're"? You mean "they're"? I get confused easily. xD

So, it means that those guys were the first experiments of Ansem?
Then why did he pick them? How did he pick them? And when did all this start anyways?

    I meant were ;-;
I have no idea how the apostrophe got there ._.

They used to work in Radiant Garden/Hollow Bastion
    It's all explained in BBS...
They were Ansem the wise Apprentices.
Except for Lea and Isa that got somehow mixed up in the tragedy, I don't know exactly how the event occurs as I haven't played BBS

Xemnas wasn't an apprentice of Ansem the Wise. He was just the Nobody of one of the apprentices. The apprentices were Xehanort, Braig, Dilan, Even, Aeleus, and Ienzo.

Lea and Isa were from Radiant Garden though, so they probably lost their hearts right when the world fell to Darkness
which it did because of the apprentices
so my guess is that not a whole lot of time happened between the apprentices' Nobodification and Lea and Isa's.

I THINK (not entirely sure) that in BBS they were headed to the castle in the end. Maybe they were some of the subjects?
They could even have become Nobodies/Heartless BEFORE the apprentices but not get recruited until after the Organization was formed. Remember that the numbers are in the order of joining, not the order of becoming a Nobody.

While this is possible, it seems improbable for a person to lose their heart just because their world fell into darkness because many of the citizens of Radiant Garden survived, like Leon, Aerith, Yuffie and Cloud, and just moved to another planet like Traverse Town. Even in other worlds like Destiny Islands, the people that you meet survive after the world fell into darkness. So I'm thinking that a world falling into darkness doesn't cause a person to turn into a heartless for now.

True. MANY citizens survived, but not everyone.
So there are people who don't survive the "destruction of their worlds."
But you made a good point about those who survived Destiny Islands' destruction: they did come back in the end.

I just always assumed when a world fell to Darkness, some people survived and ended up in the gummi verse and eventually woke up on a different world (Traverse Town) while others became Heartless and others just disappeared to another Realm only to come back.

Actually, those who turned heartless as far as I know never came back... right?

According to Nomura, if the heartless and the nobody of a person is destroyed, the original person is able to come back. The only person that we know of who definitely has had both their heartless and nobody destroyed is Xehanort at the moment.
