No Thanks Edit user notes?

I know you can edit your own user notes but why can't you edit the ones you post on other peoples pages? If you mess up it may ruin the entire effect of what you had in mind. On other things you can edit and fix this so why are user notes different?

 

This is probably in place to keep people from spamming hate messages on someone's user notes.

If only the user can edit it, it keeps the trolling under control.

 

Well we have control full over our Visitor Messages, so it makes sense to have control over editing our User Notes on other's pages. ​

User notes were actually intended, I believe, for moderators/admins/whoever to write disciplinary messages to a user. ._. That's why, at first, they were closed to just the user and the staff. We began using them as conversation areas though, so they were opened to everyone.

But VMs are (imo) a much more efficient method of conversation, should probs just use them. I'll look and see if there's an option to edit user notes you've posted but I dunno if it exists.

 

Well, if user notes aren't being used for disciplinary messages anymore and conversations are better in VMs, why not just disable user notes?

 

And get rid of all of those messages? I love reading through user notes. Tons of nostalgia.

No never that I love the UN it's awesome. We can't rid the User Notes that'd be cwazy to rid us of them.

 

This pretty much. Not to mention that there are probably a lot of sentimental nostalgia to them back when user notes were used a lot (not sure when this was, but it was long before I joined lolol).
