E3 2011

Another year, another E3 and this year looks to be better then any year so far (but I say that every year). From June 7th - 9th, news coverage will take center stage and we will be given one trailer to the next as we smile at the new games going to be released this year and beyond.

Microsoft

• Mass Effect revealed to Support Kinect Recognition able to voice command options in battle and conversation options when talking to thoers
• New Xbox Dashboard and entertainment to include YouTube, Bing Voice Control, Live TV and more through the use of Kinect
• Ghost Recon: Future Soldier has Kinect Support, 4-player co-op able
• Announcement of Ryse, a Kinect Roman Action Game by Crytek
• Gears of War 3 shows of its gameplay scale, battling huge monsters and violent action
• Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary HD remake announced, able to switch between orignal and new graphics, online co-op, full campaign, and multiplayer game modes
• Forza Motorsport 4 announced for October release, 16-player online support
• Minecraft on Xbox 360, with Kinect support
• Fable: Journeys announced, Kinect fantasy game with magical arm commands
• Kinect Star Wars shows demo
• Kinect Sports: Season 2 coming Fall 2011, includes skiing, tennis and darts

Sony

• 24-inch PlayStation-branded 3D display, whose tech allows two players to view the entire screen when playing cooperatively in the same room. Comes bundled with glasses, an HDMI cable, and a copy of Resistance 3. Will retail for $499 and is available this Fall
• NGP is officially named PlaystationVita, priced at $249 without 3G and $299 with 3G, to be released in late 2011, greater connectivity with the PS3's games and hardware
• New Resistance 3 cinematic and gameplay trailer revealed
• PlaystationSuite announced, allows PS games on non-Ps consoles e.g. PS certified tablets and operating systems
• New Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, announced
• Wipeout 2048 announced, tobe a launch title of PSV, cross-play with PS3
• PS3 exclusive content for Battlefield 3 (includes Battlefield 1943 on disc), Need For Speed: The Run (7 exclusive super cars), SSX (Mt Fuji level) and Saints Row 3
• Bioshock: Infintie new trailer, to include Move support, with the inclusion of the original Bioshock with the Infinite copy
• Star Trek game announced, Move enable gameplay, tie in with the new Movie next year based off of the same JJ Abrams take on the Trek universe, Co-op enable action betwen Kirk and Spock
• New Bioshock game to come to Playstation Vita
• Uncharted 3 new trailer shown and Beta date announced, June 28th 2012
• Dust 514 announced, allows connection with EVE Online for greater persisten experience, game due Spring 2012

• God of War Origins Bundling, a PS3 remake of the handheld games Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta

• Uncharted: Golden Abyss on PlaystationVita gameplay demo shown
• Deadmund's Quest announced, a Move fantasy game
• Ruin, action RPG on the Playstation Vita, announced, a social element of interacting with other players, shown. Allows playability on PS3.
• ModNation Racer for PlaystationVita, demo is shown. Includes touchscreen track creating mode, as well as manual control of creation. PS3 and Vita connectivity, exchanging of tracks created and more.
• LittleBigPlanet PlaystationVita game announced with trailer, share costumes with PS3 LBP.
• Street FightersXTekken also coming to PlaystationVita, demo shown. Cole from the Infamous series will be an extra character in the character line up.
• New Tenchu, Everybody's Golf, Dynasty Warriors gamea compilation trailer shown (from what I could tell those were some of the games, but no official announcement)
• Shadow of the Colussus and Ico HD Bunlde PS3 game announced for September release
• Infamous 2 trailer, announcement of a Fall release for the ability to create missions and share them
• Starhawk, sequel to Warhawk, to release early next year
  

Nintendo

• Project Cafe (the Wii 2) now officially known as WiiU. Controller incorprates a center 6.2 inches touch screen and motion control, front camera, microphone, with a stylus included. Able to make video calls to other controllers, internet browsing and tv connectivity shown. Not meant for outdoor use such as a handheld platform, but a more portable interior platform. Backwards compatability with Wii, as well as other Wii items such as Wii Board, etc. Coming in 2012.

• Mario Kart 3DS announced and trailer shown
• Kid Icarus: Awakening, new trailer shown
• Zelda: Skyward Sword announced for Fall 2011
• Zelda: Link's Awakening avaible to download on 3DS out now
• For free on the 3DS will be Zelda: Four Swords coming soon
• Luigi's Mansion 2 announced for 3DS
• Pokedex3D shown, on Nintendo eShop for free on 3DS update
• Super Smash Bros game confirmed for both 3DS and WiiU
• Lego City Stories, an open world game, to come to WiiU and 3DS
• Other series titles expected to come to WiiU: Darksiders 2, Batham Arkham City, Assassin's Creed, Tekken, Ghost Recon Online, DirtAliens Colonial Marines, Metro Last Light, Ninja Gaiden 3.

Ubisoft

• Rayman: Origins, a 4-player co-op game is announced with a return to 2D gameplay
• New Far Cry 3 announced
• Your Shape Fitness 2 for Kinect shown
• Brothers in Arms: Furious Four announced
• Just Dance 3 for Multi-Platform release, Kinect, Playstation Move, and Wii compatible
• Raving Rabbids: Alive and Kicking announced for release later in this year for Kinect
• Tin Tin game to tie in with movie, support from Steven Speilberg, released next year
• Rocksmith, a real life guitar training game, is revealed and dated for October release
• Assassin's Creed: Revelations, new cinematic and gameplay trailer, shown. Release date: November 15th

EA

• Mass Effect 3 dated release for March 2012, highlighted the galatic wide battle and the greater inclusion of new combat mechanics such as improved melee
• Need for Speed the Run lets you leave the car for foot movement, greater narrative focus
• New FIFA 2012 features announced, Kinect supported, and a real world interpretation of worldwide clubs standings in leagues, can virtually change their standing with gamers wining/losing online matches
• Overstrike, a new multi-platform game from Insominiac studios, is announced with emphasises on 4-player co-op
• Battlefield 3 new gameplay shown and details about online experience shown, release date October

Konami

• Metal Gear Solid HD remakes of MGS2, 3 and Peace Walker port to PS3 and Xbox 360
• Zone of the Enders 1 and 2 getting HD remake port
• Hideo Kojima is working on a new original project, using newly designed engine
• NeverDead, new trailer revealed, some back story shown
• More Castlevania DLC to come
• More details of Metal Gear Solid 3DS shown
• New Pro Evolution Soccer to be better then any before, new gameplay shown
• Silent Hill HD remakes also announced
• New Silent Hil handheld game announced
• Transfarring, a new feature invented by Hideo Kojima, to help gaming on the go be easier and simpler, helping transfer data between Konami games on Sony systems (e.g. PSP, NGP, PS3)

Pft, KH3 may or may not come, what I wanna know is about Battlefield!

Sony is probably going to announce something, as an excuse.

 

I am, of course, interested in what Kingdom Hearts news will surface. Wasn't Square saying a few months ago that there was a "mystery" game lurking about? Or was that referring to Dream Drop Distance?

Versus XIII looks really interesting too, despite my lack of a PS3, it'll be awesome to have news on that. =]

I'm also looking forward to more on The Old Republic--maybe even a release date. c:

 

Besides KH3, I'm kinda interested in Project Cafe. I'm a bit confused by it, so I'm hoping this will clear a few things up for me.

 

I'm looking for Agent and Grand Theft Auto 5 annoucements. I'm also looking forward to a Skyrim Demo.

Im looking foward to KH3D :D and any new games (especially Mario games) for the 3DS.

 

Main things I'll be looking at are; Project Cafe, NGP related news, Uncharted 3, AC:Revelations, Zelda: Skyward Sword, Resistance 3, The Last Guardian, FFVsXIII and FFXIII-2, Tomb Raider...anything SE/Eidos and Cyrstal Dynamsics related.

A nice surprise would be any info about Beyond Good and Evil 2.

Zelde eh? I'm interested in this as well. Sounds like a good original IP.

There's not much I am really looking forward to in this E3. Maybe just Assassin's Creed: Revelations and Arkham City. Perhaps Sony will reveal some secret project that may catch my eye.

And lol at KH3. FFvsXIII isn't even out yet.

Sounds as if they have yet another dose of not-KH3 planned for us. I really hope they were talking a8out 3D.

My excitement for 3D lies in two places: firstly, I want some decent games for the 3DS, so I might have motiv8ion to 8uy one. Secondly, I want inform8ion on the NGP and Project Café. Consoles tend to 8e more interesting to me than the actual games, for the most part. (Although, as with the 3DS, games do play a part.)

Naturally I also want Kingdom Hearts news. Prefera8ly something to do with KH3. 8ut as that's unlikely, instead I just want to get 3D out of the way. Really though, I suppose any news is good news for KHV and other fansites.
