The concept behind the story was okay at the beginning, but then I just got lost about 10 episodes later. There was also the whole "How do you even play this?" aspect that repeatedly came into my mind. Any thoughts on the show?
With YGO's success it was only a matter of time before it was ripped off. I tried watching it a while ago, and got lost around the same time you did. It was like a cross between Yu-gi-oh and Avatar: The Last Airbender (what with all the "elements" and "creature civilizations")... a really complex cross. But it has its humorous moments and a significant fanbase :|
It actually took some facial expressions and specific stylles of eyes from yugioh...i heard the makers were actually sued
The first season was good, then it when down the drain especially with the constant change of voice actors and no consistency between voices. The game, on the other hand, was better than any Yu-Gi-Oh video game and had a wonderful story and game play.
lol i have the Duel Masters monopoly and i remember asking for a pokemon one lol. But of course, this was not the only Yu Gi Oh ripoff, there was Bakugan, Spin Master and so forth. oh yes, did'nt the main character always say "Believe in the heart of your cards"? LOL
I watched a few episodes back in the day. Too much of a Yu-Gi-Oh ripoff imo. I played the game with my friend, but we got the rules so mixed up, one duel will take us hours
I remember watching it on tv, but i could not understand the rules. I may give it a go some day, just for the fun of it.
