Drawing suggestions.

I'd like to try and improve my art, and I would like you to suggest things! Not overly complicated things, just basic things like hippos or dirt or houses or something. Not Aquaman jumping into a river while Korra firebends at a giant eagle chasing them down. One or two word things. I'll post them here when they're done.

Looking at the Korra/Bolin and collapsing cave pictures, you could do with studying up a bit more anatomy. The bodies look way too stiff, with tiny heads and a lack of curvature.

It's as easy as looking at your own hands and fingers with the cave one. Notice how you arms and fingers become thicker or thinner.

If possible, try drawing larger images too. You don't have to show the entire bodies of Korra and Bolin; zoom into the more important bits, so you can practice more detailed figures.

What I think you could try drawing: a close-up of Nightcrawler, hanging upside down. Probably want to just stick to drawing from his head to his arms.

 

Yeah, my anatomy really needs work. Hence the suggestions thread. The more practice I can get drawing different things, the better. I'll get the next set of images up as soon as I can.

It definitely is one of your best drawings so far.

TIps though (if you want:) avoid the anime face. I know I know, it's a style you and I both enjoy, but it's not going to help develop your skills in learning how to portray facial details. Look up the faces of actors you could see in this character's role. Try imitating things like their cheekbones, jaw lines, lips, nose, etc.

 

Will definitely try that. I was thinking of drawing some DC comic characters anyways. Those ones have cheekbones. And jawlines...
