Discuss all the Dragonball Z Budokai/Tenkaichi series, what are your thoughts on them? From Dragonball Z: Budokai to Dragonball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 My personal thoughts, is that these games have slowly devolved to a lack of story. With Budokai's release, Dragonball Z was just beginning to become popular around America and such, and it told the story amazingly. Cutscenes, text, et cetera, along with it's gameplay, which I simply loved. Budokai 2 told its story in an extremely interesting way... In a board game style. You progressed through the story on various board like maps, but the story was altered in strange ways, like Nappa accompanying Raditz to Earth, and the Ginyu Force coming to Earth at some point. Especially the fact that Majin Frieza and Majin Cell appear. This game was amazing in my eyes, with its "what-if" characters, like Gokule, Super Buu absorb Cell, Vegeta, Tiencha, and such. Budokai 3, I think, is where the story seemed to dwindle, it was seemingly told in simple pictures of the person/people speaking, and a thought bubble to depict what was happening. The story mode pretty much made up...With you being able to fly around Earth and such. And, I don't quite remember much from Tenkaichi and Tenkaichi 2, but I know that Tenkaichi 3 is amazing, except for the total lack of story...Which was told by still animations of the people involved (It was limited to two if I remember, two people on the field at once to tell the story) speaking to each other, but the gameplay of Tenkaichi differed greatly from Budokai, even though I prefer Budokai's, Tenkaichi was an interesting game to master. TL;DR, the Dragonball games think everyone that plays knows the story (Which I for one, do)
