Kingdom Hearts does the keyblade really belong to riku?

in hollow bastion the first visit he got the keyblade when it chose sora now that means that riku is the real master its just he chose darkness over light. now is that true? cuz thats what i heard.

 

Yes, that is true. The keyblade was oringinally going to go to Riku, but when he turbned dark it changed it's mind and went to Sora.

 

Technically it doesn't belong to anybody, meaning it is not a destiny to get the keyblade because of the fact it changed it's mind.

 

Well, Riku was ITS chosen wielder.....
Until Sora proved to have a stronger hart and then the Keyblade choose him.

 

Well, the fact at hollow bastion in KH 1 doesn't matter. It is happened only because Riku was strongest then Sora in that moment (more specifically that was Ansem) and he knows how to controll the keyblade, in fact we never seen Sora to make the keyblade appear and to disappear (for example in the KH manga we see Sora going around with the Keyblade on his back)

 

That was Riku,he was just using too much darkness.
And now that you mentioned,i never saw the Keyblade disappearing from Sora,just appearing.

 

Oh, yeah u are right srry. Riku open his heart to Ansem when u defeat him the first time.
However Sora didn't know how to use the keyblade at the perfection. In fact I think that at the beginning of KH 2 when Sora went to Yen-Sid, he said that Sora has many things to learn about the keyblade and his power. Or maybe was Merlin. Hmmm....

I guess there really is nobody that is the true keyblade master, because so many people in upcoming kh and in the kh now have the keyblade, so that's my assumption.

But Sora is the succesor...

Well, and I know it was already said, the keyblade chooses the wielder. That's why it went back to Sora...it decided that he was more powerful in the heart and deserved it more.​

 

Looks like everyone said what I wanted to say :) the Keyblade was going to belong to Riku but..since he chose the darkness it chose Sora instead. =]

 

Ansem (Xehanort's Heartless) pretty well declares why the Keyblade went to Sora though originally it was intended for Riku. It's because as others have said here, that Riku had a momentary weakness in Heart and chose Darkness instead of his friends and Light. Riku was desperate and misled by Maleficent into believing the only way to save Kairi was to open the door to darkness and go through to find her Heart and he also knew Sora was there to seal the door, so yeah, they were at odds and Riku flipped out. That's why he made the deal with Ansem in the first place when he let him have his body after he lost the Keyblade. That part of the story is very subtle but it's mentioned.

So, originally, the Keyblade was meant for Riku all along. He even took it from Sora in Traverse Town to study it but when Sora said to give it back, he did. So it continued on with Sora until Riku would take it again.

 

Yeah, I think he has succeeded in picking it from Sora's hand because he was more powerful than him and because his heart wasn't completely full of darkness in that moment

 

Yes, I do think the keyblade was meant for Riku at first, since he was able to hold it in Traverse Town without it disapearing. But since he chose darkness, it saw Sora was available and stronge hearted, so it went to him. And then in Hollow Bastion, it did go to Riku because at that moment, he had a stronger heart. But it returned to Sora because his heart became stronger again and it was more pure.

 

I think Riku is the real Keyblade Master. But since he chose the darkness (meaning his heart faltered), the Keyblade went back to Sora because it can only be weilded by someone with a strong heart. So I think that if Riku had stayed with the light, he would be the Keyblade Master.

 

Okay so if the keyblade chooses its wielder and it goes with the person with the stronger heart,
in this case Sora after he gets farther in Hallow Bastion.
Can it distinguish between a good heart and a bad one?
because Riku was a bit confused and twisted when it decided to go with him....
