Does anyone else think COD's overrated?

Not sure if I put this in the right forum.

But yeah, or am I just weird?

My opinion:

MW: Great game, pretty original storyline and fun to play
WAW: Another great game, zombies was a good idea and you could just lay loose with it
MW2: Not as good as the previous ones, but still pretty decent, pretty popular and it's where quickscoping was extended a lot
BO: I found this game fun at first, but overrated when I got into it. First of all, they brought back zombies, but better, which was a good idea, but the online was weak and the only good thing about online was nuketown, plus the ending of the story sucks
MW3: A major letdown. My least favourite, in the series, it was basically just MW2.5 as the graphics were pretty much the same, and the trailer looked awesome, but when you actually got to france, london etc, you were very limited
BO2: Another overrated game, which I found to be quite like the first one. Everyone was acting as though it would be amazing, but as soon as it came out, I found it tedious.

What do you think? Agree with me, or disagree with me?

 

I have never properly played the games simply because they don't appeal to me and I think they are a bit overrated, but I know that lots of people love them so I have no problem with that- they can enjoy it but I myself wasn't a fan.

You're asking a forum dedicated to a Japanese Action/RPG game, if Call of Duty, probably the most played FIrst Person Shooter around the globe and one of the most heavily advertised games ever, which was also flaunted at the Xbox One reveal, if it's overrated.

 

I just played Call of Duty Blops 2 campaign with some friends
It was an incomprehensible mess
and because of that, it was a TONNE of fun!

 

I agree. I have no idea why the Europeans fished them to near endangerment in the past few centuries. I personally prefer haddock or salmon.

 

Is that true? Ack, my apologies, but we all know that the Spam Zone is no plaice for such gaming discussion. People are going to make such non-serious comments just for the halibut.

Eh it's ok I mean I played most of them. Mw 1
I thought had a pretty cool campaign and a addicting multiplayer .
Mw2 had a good story, multiplayer was good and alll... Black Ops was alright wasn't a big fan on the multiplayet. Mw3 was plain ridiculous, I thought it was the downgraded version of mw2. Hell they even had the same maps still, I liked the story though.
Black ops 2 was stupid, I fail to understand why many people had s huge boner over it I mean it's the same **** . Same thing goes for mw3.
Overall it's ok although for some reason it's getting more credit than it's suppose to and somehow it's the birthplace for many non open-minded gamers.
So yes I think it's overated.

 

Modern Warfare, World at War and Modern Warfare 2 are the good ones. Black Ops, Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops 2 are pretty much overrated.

 

Did you forget about the first three games? Back when WWII was the big thing for shooting games, the original Call of Duty games were actually some of the best.

 

I started the COD series at Modern Warfare. Although, I'm planning on getting the first three games on Steam.

 

Ah, okey. I only OWNED the first game, but I really thought it was a fantastic game.

 

Man, I used to dominate on that game. MP40 all the losers.

 

Okay, so here's how it works.

Consumers go out and spend there money on this game. They take it home, beat the storyline in a night. After that they play online with other consumers (if you're Xbox you're paying for live). They spend all this time leveling up, getting cool gear and unlockables. Uh oh, downloadable content comes out. Consumers pay for the DLC because they're tired of the regular maps and modes. Give it a bit, even more DLC comes out. Consumers buy that DLC to advance their options even further. New game comes out. Consumers abandon the old game and buy the new one for slightly better graphics and a different storyline.

Now, start at the first game of the series and follow that little guide ^

It's a loop guide. So you start out with *insert COD game here*. You end up with all of these DLC's. Then you move on to *insert next COD game here*.

Isn't it obvious? It's a ploy by the company's to rake in millions for a couple months worth of work. The multiplayer always starts out horribly. They make a few patches here and there to hide the fact it's horrendous. The storylines look like they've been put together with scripts from old Hollywood movies and some cheap animation. The DLC's are filled with maps that were made prior to the games release.

So, now that I've made this very long and painfully realistic statement I hope you've learned something.
