Specifically, within the film franchise (although you can voice your opinion on comicverse as well). Do you think the X-Men universe would have run smoother without him, i.e. are his appearances oversaturated? Does he steal the limelight from other, more interesting characters? I tend to think so. This poll has absolutely no merit whatsoever it's as simple as it looks.
I don't like Wolverine. I think the films should be renamed "Hugh Jackman's Wolverine and his supporting cast, the X-Men" That said, I'm not a fan of X-Men and I don't like the first three films and Origins However, The Wolverine is my favorite X-Men movie maybe tied with First Class. It's just a really good film. edit: i always forget that i like x2. i just automatically write off that entire trilogy but x2 is good.
I feel like this is sort of a trick question. Yes, I like the film universe Wolverine, but it's not his fault that the writers and directors aren't balancing focus onto more characters than him. He's always entertaining to see, even in the worst films of the series, but there needs to be more of other people thrown in too.
