What I mean by the title is the romance scenes. Usually in movies, it's too predictable, too cheesy, and too much icks. Personally, this is my opinion since the movies so far have not been on a high note *Cough* Twilight Series *Cough*

Games on the other hand really are touching. Mostly on the RPG side. Here are some examples:

Final Fantasy series (specifically X) Titus x Yuna
Tales of Symphonia (Second one) Emil x Marta

And many others. Please tell me your opinions and thoughts.

Honestly it's about the same. But Tidus and Yuna > Edward and Bella, IMO.

Games have the same amount of cheese if not more, because sometimes games will even have the romance leak into battles when the characters say something about the other person in the couple when they get KO'd.

Hmm yea that's true. But that's not in a lot of games. Majority of them are perefectly fine.

Games tend to touch me more because you usually get more time to know the characters more and play as them, so I'm more easily attached to the characters in games than movies.

Really it depends on what movie you're watching and what game you're playing. Some games have disgustingly forced romances, some have ones that are beautifully developed; some movies have disgustingly forced romances, some have ones that are beautifully developed.

But I have to agree with Christhor; the average game is many hours longer than a movie, and it gives you time to fully immerse yourself in the characters and the world it creates. That way, when the romance does begin to develop, it feels much more genuine.

i think it depends.

but for me, games with voice acting tend to make it feel more emotional.

i don't like "Text-based" cutscenes its hard to really feel the emotion.

so to answer the question. yes they do. considering most games are heavily voice acted.

I'm moved by the romance between Sora and Kairi

Although, it seems like games as a whole are uncomfortable showing

kissing/relationships/romance

when they are perfectly fine with showing half naked women like crazy.

Seems odd

If I were more cynical, I would suggest that the stereotype of the target audience for that sort of game doesn't get involved with too many relationships, but sees plenty of naked women.

Personally i find that fights can touch me more than any romance scene after roxas destroys Xion and he goes mad with sadness and desperation.

With movies, it just throws you into the story, with games, it lets you sink yourself in and get to know the characters.

At first, in FFXIII, I didn't like Snow. I thought he was big headed and idiotic, running around pretending to be a hero. I've grown to like him now, and with his relationship with Serah, I can't stop thinking about how cute they are, though I was origainally thinking, "Oh my god, how can she date him?" though she is like half his size.

In movies, you're just thrown in and it takes about 20 mins to got from "Err" to "Ohhhh!" I dislike that, it makes me very bored, very easily.

I also loved the Tidus/Yuna love story. It was perfect until the end. Expect SE to expect something and give us something different and dramatic.

It totally depends on the film/game. A lot of romances in games, i.e. YunaxTidus SnowxSerah, and even the hinted HopexVanille were very touching. But in some other games, the romance just tends to drag down the whole story (can't think of one right now but it'll come to me).

It's the same with films, sometimes it's handeled well and sometimes it makes me want to throw up ^_^.

I find that depending on the game and the movie, romance scenes seem to vary, however in most games I've played where romance develops, you tend to get to know the character really well, plus understanding their backstory. (SnowxSarah ftw). In terms of some films, as everyone has said, ends up just throwing romance at you and never really gets to fully know the character/find that the character can be oversimplistic and not very likeable. I'd prefer to know more about the character and actually feel for them... But at the same time I absolutely HATE cheesy love scenes. Its just too cliche and lacking in excitement.

Yes, because games are hours longer than movies so there is a longer storyline. With this deeper and longer storyline, you can get more attached to the characters and feel like the love is very genuine.
In movies the storyline is pushed too fast and you cant get a very good connection to the characters.

But it also depends on how the games/movies are made.

It really depends. Some stories work better as video games than movies, than sometimes it's the other way around.
Though, really, the only two games that ever had me respond emotionally were Kingdom Hearts 2 (when Donald & Goofy glomped Sora at the end), and pretty much every emotional scene in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.
