    Do animals have feelings too?

I have always wondered about the fact about animals feelings.
Animals are still a part of the earth, just like humans, and they are living things that move, smell, sense, eat.
    So, I have always wondered:
    Animals must have feelings...

There are animals that are abandoned, and mistreated. When I hear that, I always think to myself:
"What kind of a person would do that, I wonder what that animal was thinking when he was being mistreated."

I'm sorry if this was already posted.

Yes. Dogs have feelings, they show loyalty, sadness and pleasure.

Parrots can go insane without company through loneliness.

    All animals have fear.

Certain types of elephant get a thing called musth (I think that is the word) where they suffer extreme anger.

So I would say yes. They may not be as advanced, but they do have them. I would be unsure about whether bugs or smaller creature do though.

Yeah, despite how some people like to say animals have no feelings, I think they do. Animals do go through states of depression. I've noted it in cats, dogs, apes, monkeys, and even iguanas. Animals can express ranges of happiness, anger, hunger, agitation, etc. They do not have our intelligence, sure, but they do have feelings definitely.

    Agreed, Repliku.
Animals may not be as intelligent as the human race, but they can define themselves with body actions to express their feelings.

    I agree with you there.

They may not be able to express those feelin's verbally like we can but they can expression their feelin's by their actions.

Depends on the animal. The less advanced ones (i.e. jellyfish, starfish, etc.) can't. I'm fairly certain however that most mammals and several other phyla can. Feeling is a more recently developed characteristic in our evolutionary history.

Of course animals have feelings, they're living creatures like us.
    They just show them differently.

They definatly have feelings, though if they are the same as ours, I dont know.

They definatly have a sixth sense that can tune into peoples emotions though, so I dont see why they wouldnt have emotions

I agree with everyone else here. Animals have emotions but maybe not as defined or well expressed as human emotions are. Also we are more intelligent then most of them.

I believe animals have emotions. I think they all have their own personality, whether they are two animals of the same breed or two total different animals. I'm not so sure how they show them since I'm not much of an animal activist and I don't like as much as other people but they probably show some feelings.

Animals do indeed have emotions. The problem is though, there are those who are to stupid to consider, and there for, they treat animals as if they have no feelings. There for, by doing so, the animal begins to lose those emotions, and sooner or later, becomes nothing more, then.....'just some cat', you might put it. But then if animals did not have emotions, then as kittens (I have a kitten right now, so I shall use her as an example), they would not like to play around, and do all of this exploring, and such. Instead, they would just be learning how to do things. And also, they would not be coming to you so that you may pet them, and such.

In other words, animals do infact have emotions. Problem is that if we don't treat them right, then they lose those emotions, and there for, the idiots who think that animals have no emotions, only spread this ideal, making it true in the eyes of others as well. It is quite sad really, to see how so many human beings are acting like a disease in this manner really......(but then again, human beings are technicly parasites (yes, the definition of a parasite matches exsactly what humans have been doing. Look it up yourself if you want), so you can't blame us, now can you.....)

So ya, you get the point. Signs point to them having emotions, rather then not having them

Yes, I agree. Animals have feelings as well. But most are very hard to tell, since they don't speak english x3

Of course animals have feelings D: They are living creatures just like we are. We might find it difficult to decipher their feelings sometimes, but they are there.

Agreed. It's just that easy for us to figure out how they feel, but they do feel something.
