Square-Enix Difference between Aeris and Aerith?

    I'm pretty this has been noticed. But in the original FF7 she was named Aeris, but then suddenly she changes her name to Aerith...? What's up with that? D:

    Its true, though. The nineties weren't good to Japanese to English translations.

    Yea the translations were off in a few place because Square Enix translated it themselves but in later games like FF8 and FF9, the translation was better because they hired a professional.

    Though, even still, they like to leave a few particularly bizarre, funny or horribly translated lines intact, for example, Final Fantasy IV's "You spoony bard!" was originally "You ****ing *******!" and the original Final Fantasy had "I, Garland... Shall knock you all down!", which I assume was a mistranslation because I have no idea what it was originally supposed to be.
