Square-Enix Did anyone play blitz ball in FFX?

I love that mini game. I think they should make a full game for blitz ball what do you think.

 

I've recently been leveling up my characters in FFX, trying to get their ultimate weapons. The only reason that I play Blitzball is so that I can get Wakka's. xP I think the game gets tiresome after a while, and the halves are too long. I don't think it has enough substance to be made into its own game, but overall, it isn't bad for a side-game in FFX.

I cannot stop playing, I think at least 1/3 of my playcount is from blitzball matches. I really hated it at first, but once you the hanging of it, it's addicting!

Mine is:

RF: Tidus
Center (don't remember what it's called): Shuu
LF: Zazi Guado
RD: Jassu
LD: Wedge
Goalie: Keepa

All are in the 15-25 range, except for Wedge, who I'm still training. I think he's on 10.

 

I really sucked at Blitzball, and I had to get my brother to do the compulsory game for me. It was so confusing. Dislike being confused.

 

You don't have to win that game, fyi. Very few people do, because the Aurochs are on incredibly low levels, and while the Luca Goers aren't exactly the best team, they're like 5+ levels ahead of you at that point.

If you take the time to learn the game it's great, I picked it up within three or four games.

 

I was always terrible at Blitzball. I never had the attention span to sit there and learn the game either. I will admit though, it is a very unique game idea.

 

The game was my favorite :3 i used to play it all the time and won :D since my Tidus,Wakka and Botta had Invisible Shot and Tidus had Jecht Shot 2 XDD and also remember that Team Aurochs characters gets really strong when you level them upto 50,Since Dattos speed is the most in the game and Keepas goaling is more and etc. with other characters ^^

And about your Question for the other game well i think yes they should make a game about blitzball with new characters like Yuna,Rikku and all the other new characters that came in FFX-2 although they should keep the blitzball style likeFFX since FFX-2s blitzball style totally sucked :/

 

Can you get Wakka as a player? I haven't finished the game yet but iirc he retires after the match with the Luca Goers that's mandatory. :c

And I totally missed getting the first Jecht Shot... glad to hear there's a second one. xD

 

Yup you can ^^ jus go near him in the airship and press Square and suprisingly es quite3 cheap :P i got jecht Shot in my first try XD and the second Jecht Shot you have to win in blitzball and its rare ^^

 

I really wanted to win though, in the end, we lost. Which is the best team?

I guess I forgot to do the little tiny game where you get it, haha. I'm so ashamed of myself.

I have the worst time with the Al-Bhed guys, the rest of the teams are pretty easy. The Ronsos are good at defense but they're very slow and easy to outrun, the Guados are amazing passers but they suck at everything else. The Al-Bhed are the only really balanced team, haha.

 

Well the team i had when i was playing FFX first time was Keepa as goalie,Tidus and Wakka for shooting ,Botta for attacking,and Datto and Brother(AL Bhed) for speed ^^

The game was easy ^^ you just had to move the anoalog where the lines would come and press X :P

 

Blitzball is the best mini-game ever in any video game.
It is soccer underwater, what else do you want?! xD

 

Am I the only person who didn't use anyone outside of the Aurochs?

I managed to get Wakka's celestial wepon up to full with just that.

Never played after that though ... the halfs are too long, so's the league, it should've been 5 matches, not 10.

 

I sorta liked the idea of blitzball, but they sorta killed it themselves, by making it 2-dimensional, what's the point of it being in a sphere of water then? In the first FMV they even show you how fun it would be to use those 3-dimensions and how action packed the game is. Then you get the game and it's slow, boring and you don't need any tactics.

The game is somewhat difficult at first... If you don't have the jecht shot that is, that thing is so overpowered you can pretty much score no matter what if you have it.

The worst thing about blitzball though? You have to play it if you want Wakka's ultimate weapon, which is something you do considering he's the best fighter. I'd be fine if it was only like 20 matches maybe, but that doesn't even come close to what you have to play in order to get the weapon...

At times I hate this game.

10 Matches for Mars Sigil to show up (with a save before the 10th, just in case it didn't show, which it didn't the first time)

That's 42 Matches, not to mention the 8 or so it took me to get used to the game.

 

I thought blitzball was a great mini game, it'd be pretty sweet if they made it into a game of it's own. Then you'd be able to draft and make picks like in any real sport. I think I kept the origional aurochs, other than Datto who I switched out for Wakka anyway. My team's levels are all like over 40 of something and Tidus is up at 70ish lol.

 

I had the full team of Aurochs even Letty which i switched for Wakka but even then i had him in my team to level him up :D also i remember that Tidus cant learn Jecht Shot 2 unless hea learns all of his key techiniques which is kinda hard to do ^^" but jecht Shot 2 is awesome and comes once abot i think 50-70 matches or even more XD

 

I really wanted to sign Wedge just because of the Star Wars reference, lol. And I like having a lot of different looking people on my team, it makes it fun and interesting. The Aurochs were kind of boring, imo, haha.

And I don't have Jecht Shot, true, but Sphere Shot hardly ever fails me. c: And the League is fine as 10 matches really, it's not like you have to play them one after another, you can leave and run around in the game a bit, then come back.

 

I never use Sphere Shot, since I have Jecht. Incidentally, Tidus is at lvl ... 52 for me I think, I only ever use him for scoring.

I think, if they re-made it, like 10 years down the line from now, they would make it so that you can give the characters a custom costume and stuff.
