This game is really good, seriously, and depending on what mode you play on, it will most likely serve you and OWN you quite decently.

Does anyone else like this series? I for one, find it quite fun to see Dante peeve off demons from the Underworld to get their rears served by you...or in storywise, by Dante/Vergil/Trish or Lucia (Vergil in DMC3: Special Edition and Trish and Lucia in DMC2)

Yeh, but I find it odd how Dante has gone kinda evil if you watch the TGS trailer. I mean, really weird. Though I have this really weird theory that it isn't actually Dante at all but a demon posing as him.

Well, for most of the game you play as Dante's son, Nero. And maybe Nero is pissed at Dante, so it seems like Dante's evil to us.

Devil May Cry eh. Love it, just got the Special Edition of DMC 3 and can't wait for number 4.

As for Nero, I personally think he's Vergil. It's just that after the events of DMC 3 and DMC 1, he didn't age because of his transformation.

I don't think Nero is Dante's son since I heard that Nero has no connection to the Sparda family at all. I reckon maybe the soul of Sparda lives within Nero and drives him on to fight and stuff.

And sorry to disappoint you guys who thought Nero is Vergil or related to Sparda in anyway, he is not vergil or have any blood relation with Sparda it is Confirmed by Capcom

Here is a list of info for dmc4 *warning* very long

    Source: devils-lair.org

Who are the producer and director?

    Producer: Hiroyuki Kobayashi
    Director: Hideaki Itsuno

    Kobayashi also produced DMC1.
Itsuno directed both DMC2 and DMC3.

    When is the release date?

Kobayashi stated that they are aiming for an early 2007 release.

Will this turn out to be like DMC2?

Nope. Itsuno stated that it will be a powered up DMC3. For all those DMC3 fans out there, you have nothing to worry about.

Powered up DMC3? What does that mean?

Well for starters it means (according to Itsuno and Kobayashi) that they will be taking the things that made DMC3 great and expanding on them to make them even better.

    Will the Style System return?

That is unknown at this point. Though, if it's one of the things that they think made DMC3 great, chances are a superior Style System will be implemented.

Anything new about the gameplay this time around?

A few things have been mentioned on this matter. They are expanding on the aerial combat aspect of the game. We can only speculate on what this means but my best guess would be that they're trying to make beating the hell out of your enemies just as stylish as beating the hell out of them on the ground. Kobayashi also mentioned that he wants the gameplay mechanics to be a bit easier and more inviting to gamers new to the series. Again, we don't know what he meant by this, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Crazy Combos of DMC3 will be much easier to perform in DMC4. I think it all goes hand in hand with the "Powered up DMC3" quote.

So what can we expect from the enemy department?

According to Itsuno they are trying to implement more enemies into this game compared to other DMC games. He also went on to say that there will be more bosses as well. That is all that is known at this time.

What about the weapons? Anything new there?

Yup. Details aren't known, but Itsuno has stated that there will be more weapons this time around. So if 5 devil arms and 5 firearms weren't enough for you in DMC3 you'll be happy to know that you'll have more variety to play around with in DMC4.

DMC3 had an actual story with plenty of cutscenes. Are they going to stick with this for the next game?

Apparently, Kobayashi and Itsuno are planning on having much more cutscenes to entertain us with. There are supposed to be more cutscenes in DMC4 than all previous DMC games combined.

Are the cinemas going to be as crazy as they were in DMC3?

Unfortunately that isn't known at the moment.

Are any weapons from past games appearing?

Other than the main weapons from the story it is unlikely. Judging by DMC's track record, Dante's only consistent weapon is his default weapon (in this case, Rebellion). If Trish is in the game then there's a good chance that the Sparda sword may make a return as well, but that's unknown at this point.

    Any info on the story?

Details on the story haven't been revealed yet. We'll be getting our first bits of info on this sometime in September. However, Kobayashi has stated that he wants DMC4 to take place at least after DMC1. This doesn't mean that it won't take place after DMC2. But it does mean that it won't be another prequel about Dante's early days again.

But Dante is shown sporting the Rebellion. Doesn't that mean it's another prequel?

Nope. Dante gained the Force Edge at the end of DMC3. He used Force Edge in DMC1 and turned it into the Sparda sword, which he then gave to Trish. In DMC2 Dante went back to using the Rebellion because Trish still had the Sparda sword. So if this game takes place after DMC1, or after DMC2, Trish will still have the Sparda sword and Dante will be using the Rebellion because of this.

Who will be appearing in this game?

Dante of course. Vergil as both himself and Nelo Angelo have been shown in concept arts for this game. Trish and Lady has also appeared in them as well. However, Kobayshi has stated that they aren't sure if they want any of the female characters to return or if they will continue with the whole "Dante has a new leading lady in each game" theme. We won't know if past girls or a new girl will appear until the official trailer debuts at the Tokyo Game Show in September. However, it will please Vergil fans to know that as the concept art is released, they keep showing off designs for Vergil. Itsuno also stated that Vergil is a popular character and that members of his staff really like him. So take that for what it's worth.

Will this game constantly hand me my ***?

Besides the fact that there is an Easy mode to make things easy on yourself, yes, this game will probably serve you your *** on a silver platter. Original Kobayashi stated that they wanted to make this game easier than DMC3 while still maintaining the challenge factor to the game, Itsuno has recently stated that as development progresses it is still going to be the challenging game that most of us want and that there will be no going back. Though, Itsuno may be able to please all camps with how he handled the difficulty in DMC3SE.

The trailer for DMC4 at E3 2005 showed us that past characters will be returning. Are they really going to be in there?

It was a teaser trailer that showed scenes from previous games and ended with new material depicting Dante in a winter environment with a massive castle or fortress in the background.

Winter environment? Is that a hint at the next location?

Actually it is. The recent concept arts of both Dante and Vergil have depicted both characters dressing for the weather. Vergil is depicted wearing a sweater (still with a blue coat), and Dante all bundled up. Itsuno has said that Dante's look is close to the final look and will probably receive a few tweaks before the first official trailer is shown. So it's definitely going to have that winter environment.

But the Tokyo Game Show 2k5 trailer showed Dante in a city?

Again, a teaser trailer. Kobayashi said that Dante looked younger and dressed differently in that trailer because they just wanted to show off the quality of the ingame graphics. That trailer had no real impact on what to expect from the character design or location of the game. It was just meant to show off what to expect from the visual detail of the game.

What do they mean by the lines in the first teaser?

Your guess is as good as mine, but some fans have thought up some possible meanins for them:

    "We are born..."

DMC is created and we are introduced to the franchise.

    "The innocent suffer..."

DMC2 was a flop that didn't represent the DMC series all too well (I'm being nice here). Fans of the first game played this and felt betrayed by the completely reworked and unchallenging gameplay. There are other reasons but there's no need to get into that now.

    "Legends are made..."

DMC3 showed Dante become the hero that he is in DMC1 and even DMC2. Then again it can also be that DMC3 was such a step up from its predecessors that it is a pinacle for action games.

    "Evil is punished..."

DMC4 could be the final game in the series. But then again, when Dante's on the job evil is always punished. This could just be saying that DMC is back and is going to be better than ever.

    LOL. Quite long indeed, Zeto!

I didn't think Nero had any connections to Vergil or Sparda at all really.

How do you think they will handle Devil Arms? Will the Devil Bringer change to reflect the powers of the defeated Devil or will Nero still hold them in hand as Dante and Vergil did?

About Nero's devil arms, what i can think of is a basic sword/katana that can only be hold by one hand since his other arm can't be use to hold his devil arms so he is limited to weapons (maybe ifrit/Beowulf will have one less hand to whack)

Capcom explan that each time you progress the game your devil bringer will get stronger so i will take that Capcom is saying that Nero's right arm grow stronger as he kill more bosses

It actually would make sense really if Nero could only use his possessed arm to wield Devils Arms. Maybe because if a human using their normal arm used the Devil Arm, they might get possessed or controlled by it? I dunno but it's just a theory that came to mind.
