Omfg Dn Fans!! okay, i just found out that there is an episode 38 (for those new to the series, it ends at 37) *SPOILERS* YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!! this is part of the ending of the last episede. it's a flash back to L's funeral. it's really cool. It's not episode 38, it's a deleted scene from episode 25. "Episode 38" is the special directors cut when Ryuk tells the flashbacks to another death god in the Shinigami World. Still, I like this scene lol.
Yeah, that would be The Director's cut... not episode 38. Same with the scene of Light and L in the theater.
