Your final bosses should not be so long and tedious that they fall into optional boss levels of difficult.

Signed, someone who spent over an hour on the boss and didn't even get halfway to killing it.

I spent an hour on the final boss and got it down to like 60% health. Das bullsh*t.

 

did you just... skip everything? I could understand if the somewhat weird strategy was holding you back, but this sounds like you're just plain underleveled

 

I understand having a hard time with bosses, but spending an hour getting him down to 60% just sounds like you need leveling and more strength. I mean, an hour maybe spent and almost beating a boss would make sense (insert Legend of Dragoon here), but just getting him to 60% something isn't right about that

That's the thing, though. The way I play RPGs, I kill everything I come across and hardly ever run from fights. In the maze area before the boss I easily killed everything except that Proto Behemoth near the end. I did nearly all of the side quests (136 out of 160 crystals), and all of my classes are leveled to ~70. That really shouldn't be underleveled.

Yooo I gave it a few tries. First few tries I wasn't expecting the triple dragon bahamut bs and got mercilessly slaughtered before I did the round that took an hour. After which I was just exhausted and put it down for the night.

I don't mind a boss being challenging, but when it's tedious and not fun to fight then you have a problem.

 

I... don't know what to say. I found 13-2's final boss exponentially easier than 13's final boss

 

At times like this I always go on youtube and check whether I am killing the boss right or whether there is an easier way or something I am just not doing.

Yeah :3 It helps me not get so frustrated and waste my time on bosses in case I am doing something wrong. So I don't care.

 

Same here. Some might consider it cheap *coughhousecough*, but there's nothing wrong with doing a little research. With the first fight against Caius I couldn't kill him since he kept that regen, so I had to look up a way to get past it and move on

 

I looked it up on gamefaqs but maybe a video tutorial would do me better >_>

Unless you go in without protection from instant death, and are unlucky
