So the first episode of this just came out. They way they set up the first episode was very addicting and enjoyable I liked it a lot. Looking forward to more. Spoiler: Plot Ganta Igarashi has been convicted of a crime that he hasn't committed, and sent to a new, privately owned and operated prison, where the inmates are the main attraction in a modern day twist to the gladiatorial coliseums of ancient times. Throw in a healthy dose of weird little girl, some new-found super powers, and a little conspiracy theory, and you have Deadman Wonderland.
I fell in love with the anime the moment we watched it in our school's anime club. I was able to find the first few volumes around a number of Barns and Noble. I know that the fifith one is out, and I need to get my hands on it as quickly as possible (The publisher of the American edditions of the manga is Tokyo Pop, which shut down earlier this week). I really hope another company like Yen Press picks up the series to finish the translation. With the anime, I like how you can feel the spirit of the character when they speak.
I don't generally use websites to read manga. It's not even an "because it's illegal" thing either. I like the feeling of holding a book in my hands. It's a competely different expeirence than reading it online. Plus, the way they release manga on certain dates excites me. Like, I know that Bakuman has about 100 chapters now online, but I am willing to wait a while for the next book to come out because I like to ponder what is going to happen. Plus, you can't carry your laptop with you everywhere.
Anyone read the most recent chapter...i just said "hell ya" the very second Senji came into the room. For some reason i felt an emotional response to this chapter.
I haven't been able to. I heard that Tokyo Pop was able to publish the fifth manga before they went under, and I doubt that there will be any left now (I have the first four). I also don't read manga on the internet; just a personal thing about reading online vs holding a book... Did anyone else see the season finale? What did you think? Spoiler Personally, I think that the ending just came out of nowhere. It wasn't bad, but the pacing felt totally off. During the run, it felt like everything was going at a good, slow pace to let everything sink in. However, with the last two episodes, it seemed that they needed to rush together an ending. Because of that, a lot of things seemed to suffer. However, even though it felt empty, I enjoyed the final episode and am on the look out for season two
I'm guessing with the way it ended they just assumed everyone knew there would be a season 2. That being said it was an alright ending, definitely looking forward to the rest of the series.
Dude i was talking about the online manga :P Spoiler In it Senji comes in and saves ganta and tells him to run down the passage behind him and practically commits suicide in order to guard the passage with a cool extension of his usual branch of sin.
I just started reading and watching this yesterday. I must say, I'm intrigued. Soon on Chap 9 of the manga and ep 3 of the anime.
