I suggest that you clear the database of members who havent visitted in a year.
That way more usernames would be available.:roar:

Some members return after a year or so and become fairly active. It'd be unfair to them if they try to log on and find their account is gone. Plus it wouldn't paint a good picture of the site. Who wants to be a member of a site that removes members for being inactive for a year?

Won't happen. Believe this has been brought up before. There are several members who have taken year long breaks in the past, and then come back.

I have to say I disagree with this one.

Although some members tend to leave for a year or more, they also tend to return (as has been the case very recently with a few members). If there is a username you wish to have, you can use alternate characters (an alpha symbol instead of an "a", etc.) to bypass the system in case that name is already taken.

    i.e.

If the name Plums is taken, I can use the name Plµms and other variants.

Well, you wouldn't be able to change your name for quite a while if we did that. It's not that BIG of a problem, people have adjusted by making their names creative.

I don't think that'll happen. Even if some members are gone, it's good to have the memories of some that frequented the forum.

Well, he or she just joined. Might not have read the rules yet, and didn't know that alt accounts aren't allowed (they are on some sites!) or that it was super easy to change username.

KHV doesn't delete members. The more members we have the more popular we are on search engines and such so we get more traffic.

That would put a huge dent in our statistics. It's pretty nice to say we have over 50k registered users here.

Also like the others mentioned, there have been many times where people join and don't become active until years later. It's like when you make an account anywhere, if the place isn't all that new, you're most likely going to have to be a bit more creative with your username.

Yeah, sorry, this isn't happening - basically for the reasons mentioned above.
It's also been brought up in the past too, so on that note please use search before making a new suggestion. In theory it's not bad, but for a lot of reasons it won't happen.

    That being said,
