Might just be me, but i'm seeing alot of common traits in people who use the power of darkness.

    CCommon traits are:
    - Gold/Yellow eyes
    - Clothing has a general dark theme to it (a little obvious, I know)
    - Red and Black colour scheme
    - If they wield a Keyblade or other weapon, it has a red and black colour scheme with the blue cats eye somewhere on it.

    This could be applied to:
Xehanort (his dark intentions shown in the 'Ansem Reports')
His Heartless and Nobody (though this could be because there somebody already had the eye colour)
Terra (when he chooses darkness, his eyes turn to gold)
Master Xehanort (not sure if there is proof he wields darkness or not, but is the antagonist of BBS, so I am expecting it)
Vanitas (In a recent scan, his eye seem to be the gold colour)

I know that Riku is the oddball since he doesn't have the eyes, and this may be for some special reason, currently unknown.
If Ansem the Wise is in BBS without the eye colour, i'm going to say my theory is correct, otherwise it'll be back to the drawing board.

And I may be imagining, but people who know a few things about the Star wars Universe, don't alot of this traits seem similar to people who choose the dark side of the force?

I pretty much agree with all of this.

Riku had those same qualities in kh1 and up to the point where he had the blindfold on, so he fits that bill pretty well.

His eyes are green now, but this fits perfectly with his character since he has chosen to wield light and darkness. People who have light in them generally have blue eyes (Sora, Kairi, Cloud, etc.). Yellow+Blue=Green.

Yellow eyes are a Bleach reference. Obviously.

Like stated above, it could've been made like that for color combinations. Yellow for Darkness. Blue for Light. Green for Twilight/Both. And so forth.

Red and Black are too obvious for Darkness and are overused. But these are pretty common traits for Darkness. Especially in Kingdom Hearts.

Tanned skin is also a side effect of someone being too close to darkness.

It's safe to say that the Darkness changes people, in this case quite literally. Riku's allegiance has never been with the darkness however, he merely used it, and it was hi greatest fear. He wasn't truly one with the darkness, as evidenced by his Dark Suit transformation.
