I was just thinking about this today. I was talking today in class to others who wanted their hairs cut, but their mother's wouldn't let them (girl group)

Since, technically, it is our body, shouldn't you think that us as teenagers, possibly pre-teens, should be allowed to cut our own hair? I know this may seem stupid, but think about it. Ever want your haircut and your parent/guardian wouldn't allow it? Did you think it was unfair?

Well I mean, there's no law against it.

Most people just don't want to cut their own hair because chances are it will go very very wrong.

So if people wanna take their chances and possibly end up stuck with an extremely bad haircut, then they can go right ahead. I'll stick to having a professional cut mine, thank you very much.

ya, i really don't know or care that much about hair, but it is not the parents decision to make, it would be if the act was harmful to the girls....

lol. I'm a guy, and don't really care to do anything fancy with my hair, so I'm fine having a barber cut it.

If people want to cut their own hair, they can go right ahead, but unless they actually know what they're doing they shouldn't expect it to turn out too well.

technically ur under ur parent's rules. but not like they can say no after it's gone though. i've been in that spot before. if u really care that much bout hair. get it done ur self of pay someone to do it. if trouble is worth ur new look i guess.

Heh, I end up cutting my own hair anyways. Although, I always cut it weirdly... B|

Parents are parents though. They're concerned about us, and want the best for us, even though we don't think it is the best thing in the whole wide world at the moment. No, it's not a law, but it's good to obey them. Shows that we have respect for them. Like jettie said, you could probably just go to a friend's house to get it cut or pay a professional.

What's funny is I did JUST THAT. I went to the hair dressers and instead of getting a trim, I got a shape. It resulted badly, but it was a good try, I got it re-shapened and it looked good... now I'm bored of it

What counts is that I pissed off my mum xD

I think we should be able to cut our own hair. I want to get mine cut because its starting to look really flat and my fring is down to my shoulders. My mum won't let me get it cut because she say's I've been growing it for too long and I shouldn't cut it now <___> It was my choice to grow it in the first place and I want to cut it.

Get it trimmed by a professional. I can understand not wanting to let kids loose on their hair.

There is no law against what we do to our hair, or our body for that matter. I cut my own fringe when i was 4yrs old before my cousin's party and my mum got really pissed off at me, I think that's why when I want my hair cut she straight away rings the hairdresser to come and cut it for me xDD

Well, if you want to cut your own hair then go ahead, but uh, don't expect it to look amazing.

It's best to get it done by someone who knows what they are doing.

I learnt that the hard way when I was 6 and ended up with really messed up crooked hair and a wonky fringe o:

My friend cuts her own hair all the time, but nothing too drastic. And since she doesn't have a job and both of her parents are deceased, she doesn't have much to live on. So she just lives with what she's got.
So she get's good hair styles all the time. I think it's rather alright. But I would never trust myself to do my own hair, for some odd reason.

I kinda understand parents concerns about teenagers cutting their own hair.
I've seen this girl at school who cut her own hair. The first time it was really cute but very different, the second time was kinda messy and the girl had to get her hair re cut at a hair salon to fix it.

I'll wait to cut my hair until I'm in college. My choice, my problem, and I'll fix it (if it needs fixing).

    ^This.

But, hey if someone wants to cut their own hair, let them but they shouldn't expect it to look the way they wanted it to look.

Honestly, I would NEVER cut my own hair. Mainly because I like my hair long, and it's perfectly fine the way it is. But since my parents aren't really fans of long hair especially my dad, they bother me to cut my hair. Same goes for my bangs.

I've already had someone cut my own hair and that was my mom. She left it....horrible looking. I honestly no longer trust anyone with my hair if they have scissors in their hands. Only the people in barber shops.

I really see no harm in cutting your own hair seeing it as hair = dead cells.

Besides it grows back out, and it doesn't hurt to cut it unless you're terrible with scissors.

Sure, if they want to end up with a complete hairdon't and be laughed at and commit social suicide, who am I to try and stop them?

I have my own hair, and choose to cut it at will, though my Mom cuts it, and has some limits.. I did earlier this year, and when I went to school, my friends all got surprised. I made a joke about it, saying I lost a pound. I convince this girl, Nikki, that I really had lost a pound.

Kids should be able to decide their own hairstyle after the age of thirteen. That's one of the times you most need your hair, to express and 'find' yourself.
